So a while back iamcoldblue made a Summertime mix CD and sent it out to a bunch of people, including me. It's a pretty awesome mix, and I listened to it a lot. Lots of yummy musics.

But, you know what? I am not really a fan of summer. I like Fall. Well, Fall and Winter, but here in Texas, Winter is really just an extension of Fall, with a day or two of real cold thrown in to scare everyone. Anyways, the point is, the more I listened to the Summer mix, the more I wanted it to be Fall already. Summer is hot! And the sun is too bright! And the kids in the pool, with the shrieking until 1am! Gimme Fall, with the cooling temperatures, the cloudy skies, and the pool too cold to use. Gimme the color-changing trees, and the delicious air in the evening. Gimme that tranquility!

Clearly, the solution is to make my own seasonal mix.

I don't really have a fancy name for it. It's just my Fall Mix CD. Here's what's on it:

  1. Golden - Hybrasil

  2. Headlock - Imogen Heap

  3. Hovering Sombrero - They Might Be Giants

  4. The Littlest Birds - Be Good Tanyas

  5. Come With Me - The Town Pants

  6. Rockamallard - Blectum From Blechdom

  7. Do You Realize? - Flaming Lips

  8. Dark Moon, High Tide - Afro Celt Sound System

  9. I Wonder Why The Wonderfalls - Andy Partridge

  10. Suddenly Everything Has Changed - Flaming Lips

  11. Magic Window - Boards of Canada

  12. Smoothie Song - Nickel Creek

  13. World Spins Madly On - The Weepies

  14. One Of These Things First - Nick Drake

  15. Sleeping In - The Postal Service

  16. The Works of Unknowns - Joy Electric

  17. Nighttime - Petracovich

  18. Take It From Me - The Weepies

  19. Gallery - Muse

  20. Constellation Lyra - Edward Shearmur

I've listened to it about fifty billion times, and it makes me happy. Hopefully it will make you happy, too! Email your address to syntheticjesso at gmail dot com, and I'll send one winging your way. Or I'll mail it to you. Yanno, whichever is cheaper. (Hint: Jess, you will have one winging towards you. I recommend ducking if you value your eyes.)

Also, I'm curious! When making a mix CD, how do you do it? My process is very unscientific... I just put a buncha candidates on a playlist and then pick off the ones that don't fit, then listen to it a bunch and slowly rearrange it until I like the way it goes. What about you guys?
