I forever dream within a dream

Happy February!

I know that everyone's New Years resolution's are similar in nature.  I.E. I'm going to: Loose weight; Get Healthy; Get organized; Put myself out there....  No matter how you look at them they all pretty much boil down to reinventing oneself in some way or another.  Hence the idea of resoluting (that should really be a word) yourself in the New Year to have a goal.  of course, there are some goals that you don't have to entirely reinvent yourself for, such as one of my many goals: Goal 1: Read at least 70 books.  (Last year I only read 69) So, while this does not require me to reinvent myself, it is still a goal.  So there are some resolutions that are not reinventions... but most are I'm sure you can agree.  Well, along with my brain capacity expanding with the written word I have a goal to "get healthy" just like every other fat or lazy American on the planet.  I'm taking up walking (and I have a walking buddy which will help.  And if my walking buddy is unavailable I have an iPod and a dog as backups lol).  I really want to be healthy, not just to feel better about myself or whatever, but longevity.  I don't want to die; and since I'm still working out the details on vampirism healthy lifestyle is my plan B (Vampirism is still plan A). I started today.. yea I know, "wait a month to start your resolution that's silly" but ya know, better late than never and all that.  It was fun, the ocean is like half a mile from my house and I didn't even know it! All I have to do is walk through the pine developments and BOOM there she is. :)  So me and Debbie will hopefully continue this walking in the morning thing.  Along with that I'm trying to eat better.. this is hard because I can't afford to eat healthy.  I know that sounds ridiculous but it's true.. health food is much more expensive.  And I have to save money so I can move >.< and when I move I won't be able to afford to eat (or have time since I'll have to pick up a second job).  I would really like to save for a car, but now I have to save for first/last/security on an apartment instead.  Blah.  Anyway, that has nothing to do with my new years goals; point is, I can't really afford health food.  But I am going to try the best I can.  This is also a chance for me to get mentally healthy, to really cleanse myself of some past aggressions I might be holding on to.  I internalize a lot of bullshit, so it's time to let that stuff go back into the past where it's supposed to be.  Because it's over and done, and there's nothing I can do about it now.
I also want to be a better Wiccan.  I mean, it's my faith and beliefs so I should really know them and hold them.  People of other faiths know their religious texts and believe in their dieties words.  I need to do the same thing.  Even though Wicca is more of a spiritual religion than textbook, I can still brush up on some of the origins and what it means to be a modern day Wiccan.  There's a book I want to get that I think will help me.  So, be a better WIccan. :D

So, new years bring new goals (or the same goals, restated in a way that makes you feel like they're not the same).  To summarize:

Goal 1 : Read 70 books or more

Goal 2: Get Healthy (physically and mentally).

Goal 3:  Be a better Wiccan

Goal 4: Use better posture ( I mean, it's important)

Goal 5: Spend less money on stupid things

Goal 6: Be more Green (This coincides with goal 3)

Goal 7: Try new things (foods, activities, be open to experiences)

Goal 8: Keep in touch (I miss my friends - I love the ones I've made here, but everyone from New England is missed much and I need to work on calling/writing/emailing more frequently)

Goal 9: Stop Whining (This is never going to happen, but it's nice to have it there ^^ )

Goal 10: Write a novel (I can do this!)

Goal 11: Try and get a novel published (I have no idea how to do this)

Goal 12: Do something I love (i.e. look in to teaching or going back to school).

I know a bunch of these wont be accomplished, but to know that I set them as goals means I will at least try.  :D

beauty, health, reinvention, new years resolutions
