I made latkes for the first time on Friday evening. Some of the cakes turned out well, while others turned out over-fried and covered in excess oil. I'm sure that I'll perfect the art of making latkes after some more trial and error. But until that time, I shall feast on works-in-progress latkes....

No dinner for one is complete without a requisite glass of wine and suitable reading material (such as New York Times Sunday paper).
