And I Still have most of Sunday left.
So Thursday night Dara and I head out to the mountain house with a little lay-over at Adult world and Friendly's on the way. It was a nice trip with no issues. We spent the rest of the night just watching TV with a side of sweet loving.
Got up Early on Friday, packed up our bags and headed out to
Caesar's Paradise Stream Resort, only about 30 min away. We got there in plenty of time for breakfast and the room was ready so we could check in. Speaking of the room it was awesome! 4 rooms (living, bed, bath, and pool), a heart shaped jacuzzi, round bed, real fireplace, a small but fairly deep private pool, and Bose sound system in every room.
After Breakfast were we had a nice conversation with two other couples I talked Dara into a nature walk. We then went horseback riding, which we got comped because we count as honeymooners. Dara was smiling the entire time. She's wanted to ride forever and she finally got the chance. Her legs still are a bit sore from the trotting, but she'd do it again in a instant. we ended up a little sunburn from the ride on our arms and Dara's neck (my hat protected my neck), but it's mostly faded by today.
We then decided to take advantage of the Archery range. We haven't shot in years and it showed. luckily by the last two ends we were both showing improvement. We need to start shooting regularly again. So with fingertips slightly sore, we headed back to the room to try out our jacuzzi. I have to say the heart shape is quite practical for a couple as well as being cute.
After a long soak and taking our sweet time getting dressed we headed to appetizers and cocktails by the pool. Here's my one complaint about the resort. There is an awful lot included in your stay regardless of your room in the way of facilities, activities, and even food with breakfast and dinner providing as much as you'd care to eat. Alcoholic drinks, however, are obscenely priced. I've been in hotel bars before, but they would blush at their prices. So, if you're going, stop at a state store or distributer on the way, all the rooms have a fridge so you'll be fine.
The appetizers were good though and we moved on to our Italian dinner. We stopped back at the room after a long meal with good conversations with our fellow guests. We flipped on the TV and it turns out the national spelling bee was on. It was really say, down to the top 11, and every single one of the kids who we saw stand up and spell was a freak. I felt so bad for them. You could tell the only thing these kids have going for them is the spelling bee.
There was a band playing and we went to see them. We left after the fist set. They didn't sound bad, in fact their lead singer was quite good, just the songs they chose to play for the most part, Ug! After the music re retired to the room for the rest of the night, which we spent mostly in the pool. We were in there for at least 2 hours. If you ever have the chance to swim without a suit I suggest you try it, it is quite a fun experience.
Then we sat in front of the fire till we were passing out from the days events.
In the morning we received breakfast in bed (also part of the honeymoon package) Then we cleared out our room. It rained during the night and into Saturday morning so we were glad we did the horseback riding on Friday. We took a tour of the other suites on the site then did some shopping (we are both suckers for souvenirs). We took a short walk once the rain stooped then went to a movie trivia contest. We didn't win but we did quite well. It also gave us a list of movies to go see. After that, we decided to start the trip home.
We stopped in at the Allentown rest stop on the NE extension of the Turnpike to check out the new facility. The Roy Rodgers survived, although to Dara's horror, they no longer have pickles in the fixings bar. To make up for that, we stopped in Landis on the way home and got some burgers and pickles to cook up for dinner. The rest of the night consisted of watching "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and City of Heroes.
So, all in all, an awesome long weekend.
