So, I've joined
hvw's
push-up cult. We're going to work up to 100 continuous push-ups within the next six weeks by following a
pretty simple plan. This was a no-brainer for me, so today I did my initial test. I managed to do 29 push-ups. Over the next six weeks, I'll be chronicling my adventures in the cult here, though I'll put the next ones behind cuts for those who aren't also playing at home.
And for those who haven't heard about it yet, go, look, and then join!* Especially you CrossFit folks. This is so up your alley. Lots of push-ups! For fun!
After letting
James know this is what I was doing, he was also intrigued and decided to join in. He did 50 push-ups. At the end of it, he whined and griped about it. Ha ha! For once, he griped at me about a physical activity I cajoled him into doing. Muahaha.
Also, note that you don't have to do full push-ups. There are modified push-ups of several sorts if you want to participate but aren't up to full push-ups yet. Remember, the goal is to feel better, work hard, and get more fit. Not, er, to kill yourself.
* Please consult your physician first, especially if you have shoulder or lower back issues.
wbenetti, for instance, will not be doing this as there is a high amount of reps involved and his shoulders are still recovering from all the trauma this year.
