And then the thread goes where?

I've taken up sewing again. Not that I had ever "taken up sewing" before, but I knew how to sew (my mom taught me) and I've sewn a few things here and there. But now, I have "taken up sewing." The problem with this, of course, is that I'm god-awfully bad at it. My cuts are creative at best; my straight lines are at least bi; and I have managed to make a complete mess of this gather. The good news? I can now rip a seam apart like no one's business! Yes, I had to do this to start over on the gather.

In other news, I'm heading to Teach Wench's Prepare for Faire Sale this Saturday at 9:00 am, where I can purchase things from people who actually know how to sew, and all for the worthy, worthy cause of the National MS Society.

In other, other news, life is starting to come back on track. My temper has been about as good as my sewing lately. I wonder if life comes with a seam ripper so we can start it back over? Not that I want to; that was just a random thought.

I'm not heading to SDCC this year -- or, possibly, ever again. And though I'm a sentimentalist who hates endings and good-byes, I've found that last year's SDCC and its "feral cat pisses on your pillow" routine so completely killed my love of it that I'm not actually sad at all. I'm sad I won't get to see the Tarts, but I'll either visit separately or see them at WonderCon next year.

This morning for breakfast: soy sauced scrambled eggs with chives. Commonly served with rice, but I just ate it on its own for a nice, low-carb version. Yum yum. I've been focusing on becoming more fit lately, so between eating better and working out (a lot) more, I should really turn things around.

Hmm ... what else? Horseback riding FTW. D&D 4th edition FTW. Dr. Who FTW. wbenetti FTW. Oh, and if you live in or around Leesburg, Hamburg Döner is an awesome German mini-restaurant with the best selection of German beers in the area. It is also FTW.
