Last night on TV I heard the most breathtaking exchange.

Some random conservative bitched that the so-called "stimulus" proposal was actually a "spending" proposal.

And 30+ years listening to weasel-words left me stunned when the President said [I paraphrase here] Of course it's a spending program. That's what a stimulus program does.
