snake heads come flying at my legs!

did a good amount of yard work today, including some massive trimming and edging. I think i've found all the sprinkler heads at the rent house (the last tenants did a piss-poor job of yard and other basic maintenance). and, like every other first big trimming of the year, i managed to cut a baby snake-head off AGAIN. at least this one only hit my leg (that's one of the many reasons i wear long pants and sleeves doing yardwork, in addition to the sun and cooling factor) as opposed to straight at my head, like last year. the snake was about 8" long and a coppery-brown. i don't think it's a copperhead, but the head's a bit mangled and *seems* triangular-shaped, but the teeth look more like a baby egg-snake.
but the yard looks great! i even trimmed the hedges (and yesterday i planted some flowers in a pot in the front).

in addition, the shed is looking good. i've gotten all the decay voids removed and replaced w/ spray-foam; i've also *finally* started unpacking the craft and sewing stuff! i think i got it about 2/3 to 3/4 unpacked-- it's not done but it's to a point I can sew again :). for the outside, i still need to trim the foam and spackle and paint; that's planned for tomorrow if i feel like it and the weather holds up (a cold front is supposed to come in today and the high will only be in the mid-80s F tomorrow).

finally, even w/ my love of bad movies-- especially the made for sci-fi ones-- i could not watch aztec rex, it just pissed me off. (premise is conquistadors find a tribe of aztecs that worship a bad-CGI t-rex that eats their horses. piss off point is the plot is manly conquistador that is only looking for a woman to love and settle down w/ must save the poor chinese-aztec leather-bikini-clad maiden princess running barefoot in the forest to escape an arranged marriage to a noble w/ spray-painted tattos and an almost-rape-scene like in the kevin costner robin hood movie. uhg). give me atomic twister or 10.5 aftershock apocalypse anyday.

yard, construction, build stuff, bad movies, snake, sewing, craft
