Another Fine Evening

Unfortunately, some real news this time....I was on my way to class Tuesday (late, might I add, because I was enjoying my rest and didn't wish to leave the bed....Quite sad considering it was a 4 o'clock class. Not too sad, though, because I was sleep deprived that night), and I got there without a hitch. But as I was turning into the driveway of the parking lot, I heard what appeared to be crushing snow noises of some sort..."No biggie" I thought, everyone had been driving with snow the past few weeks. Well someone must have buried a dagger in there or that was the fucken sharpest ice in the world, because not 5 seconds later my right rear tire was completely flat! I didn't realize it at first, but it got real bumpy real quick, and I limped to park the car and got out to see what happened. It was flat, all right....I'd say a 3-inch gash so there went that tire's chances of being patched....This wasn't an immediate problem, I suspected, so I left for class and decided to come back during the break before my last class and fix it then. When I came back, everything was going smoothly until I removed the bolts and observed that the tire would NOT budge! Before long my mood went decidedly south....I kept pulling and pulling the rim, dropkicking it, then I got creative with the tire iron and started hitting various parts of the screws and rims, then with a metal bar I had...nothing worked.

This went on for more than an hour before I realized it was near the end of my last class, so I stopped in to let the teacher know what happened and to check the progress of the group project we are doing. One of my group, (his name is Saudi lol) came to the car with me and offered to help...We tried most of the same shit, and then started lowering and lifting the car again (which took forever), before he made the brilliant suggestion to drive around with the bolts off to loosen the tire up....Well eventually, it worked! By this time it was close to 11pm, and I felt like every muscle in my body was aching, and poor Jill was patiently waiting for me to come back, and she only had like an extra hour before I had to bring her to the train.

Yet...my problems didn't end there...Something immediately was wrong once I drove off....the ride felt as smooth as if the tires were bricks.... Those of you who remember the ghetto ass gypsy cab Town Car I have should know that it has no springs for suspension, but air cushions. Somehow, I think during the moment when the tire actually went flat (which was almost instantaneous), the pump started pumping air to compensate for the flat....and just kept pumping....enough to fuck it up. There was no time for me to stop it...I had to get to the place to park, plus in the heat of the moment trying to figure out what was happening, the damage had been done. I took all the precautions, such as shutting off the air system before working on the tire, and yet it still happened, so I'm pretty sure it was from then. So now, besides the fact my car drives like a oil tanker, its rear end is now 3 inches from the ground. Lowridah y0! Except I think that also fucked up the exhaust system too somehow because Jill was coughing and said it smells like chemicals. Either problem could easily cost hundreds to remedy, with the air suspension notoriously expensive to fix (like over $1000 depending on the problem). So this did not make for an enjoyable evening...Which sucks because it was a fine weekend otherwise...I'll cover that later.

Grrrrr!!
