Why, that's the funniest thing I've ever heard! If they don't know about or can't get contraception...that'll mean no more abortions!!! Wahoo! With you all the way Rep. Phillips!!! Next...we cut out that drop off the baby within 48 hrs law. They can't afford contraception, too stupid to not have sex, no abortions round here, no medicare for poor women and their infants...wait...this is sounding like genocide...how do we lessen it? Oh, I know....we'll pop in a 10th of that in testing procedures and everyone will love us. Now, it's off to the Bahamas with those D.C. lobbyists. I mean, they can't bribe Congressmen anyomore...they have to go somewhere.
"But Phillips said she was comfortable with the change because the group Missouri Right to Life and the Missouri Catholic Conference supported it."
Have always been appalled by the way politicians bring in support for a radical idea by convincing anti-tax people to support their views. Have no idea what rock Ms. Phillips crawled out from, but I wish they'd create a bill that changes the existing law that allows women to turn over their babies to a police station or fire station, etc... within a given time. Think it should require them to take it to the closest church and leave it there. They have plenty of Faith Based Initiative money and it's all tax-free right? Then, pass a law that says the Govt can't afford to pay for those kids and the churches (and their parishioners) can pick up the tab for millions of unwanted babies. Sounds like the key to a Great Society if I ever heard one...
For your last remark: Just pass a law that says that anyone who is elected in the US has to be sterilized prior to taking their office. We don't want them to breed...
Whatever the hell happened to "What would Jesus do?" These aren't Christians. They're not moral. They're Radical Christofascists. Send out the FBI!!! :-)
"the churches (and their parishioners) can pick up the tab for millions of unwanted babies."
Are ya nuts? Can you imagine how many minds they would have to bend to their insane ideas? Not to mention plenty of bodies for canon fodder! I mean, think of the days of orphanages. They kept the kiddies alive long enough to send them off into the big bad world and plenty of them were grateful enough to always pledge their allegiance to the church. :-p

At least she's consistent:
