Umm okay I'll give both of those a shot.

1. When I started shipping them
Hurr. I actually didn't really begin to seriously ship them until the bbeh event, when Erza was all tiny and sad. I just thought, "B-baww Erza will appreciate Sachiko for this even though she'll never talk about her childhood ever," and it kind of spiraled off into that. They'd had really charged, lulzy arguments before that though, and now just about all of their interactions are like, idk vaguely romantic.

2. What I think their challenge isUh everything

:C I was like AWW when Sachiko was giving her cake and kneeling down to talk to her and just being...idk all adorable and protective.

I AM TAKING A TIME OUT FROM THE TRUTHINESS THERE TO SAY THAT IMAGINING ERZA WITH CLOUD HAIR IS AMAZING AND HORRIBLE.

There's a fanart that features the entire FFVII cast with Cloud hair. It's hilarious.

I find that idea so amusing. Sachiko dealing with the guild, just... lolol. She'd probably die if Marakov (Makarov? I swear I can never remember which it is ;;) ever slapped her the way he does with Lucy. Poor, poor Lucy.

Iii think it's Makarov. AND LOL yeah Erza would be mad if he did that to Sachiko sdfjkl

minako/rei

1. When I started shipping them
I didn't start shipping them until I read through the manga and the infamous "we don't need any men," scene. :C And that was at the end of the series. /fails

I do not ship them in the anime.

2. What I think their challenge is
Minako likes men. Rei...does not. Minako is flirty and very open. Rei is conservative and not open at all. Minako is a chatterbox; Rei isn't. Minako is often frivolous and almost manically happy most of that time. Rei is very responsible, mature for her age and comes off as haughty and/or depressed half the time. (And she swore celibacy to her Princess, but that's...flexible since it was in a past life.)

They have a lot to work through lol, but I think that their weaknesses are also their strengths if that makes sense?
