my situation....
So I have reached the end of my wits with my room mate situation.
For those who dont know, I will give a rundown of my situation and then maybe someone can give me advice.
My roomie and i live in a house together, my room mate, whom i have known for about 8 years. We sign a 1 year lease in may of 2005, subcontracting the house out for these people....we will call them couple a. Couple a is subleting for couple b. couple b are elderly and are letting couple a take care of the renting and whatnot. we sign a contract with couple a to rent the house from them....couple a. couple b knows about this but....but.....its not couple b's signature on the lease....its couple a.
couple a steal a shit ton of money from couple b and leave one day without notice. the lease is basically turned over to couple b and we start paying rent to couple b.
are we still legally bound to the contract that we signed with couple a.....and.....
if couple b says that my room mate can break the lease....can i still hold him accountable in the court of law and make him pay the remaining rent?
i dont wanna get fucked over but his mommy helps him out of everything and thats whats gonna happen now...
