Meanwhile... A fairly famous sci-fi art director is having a birthday party tonight, and everyone in my office is invited. I cannot fully explain why this is so awkward for me. Maybe because this is the first time I've encountered a Professional birthday. I can't rationalize waving at the Birthday Girl from across the room and then eating appetizers for an hour. Maybe I am just socially awkward?
