gangstavidel asked me...
1. Has CFUD ruined anything for you that you later heard/saw in a public forum and reacted WRONGLY?!
I think probably the best example of this would have to be the time the Pell and Tats(?) and I spent a happy hour in Toys R Us holding large plush musical flowers to our crotches and making them sing.
2. If you could defeat my topping backlog, who would you top me into apping?
....but you hate CLAMP, my dear :(
3. What started you into role-playing?
Probably the enjoyment of telling long and complex stories through notes passed back and forth in the hallways of highschool. If by 'started' we mean 'why are you drawn to the medium' or something like that.
4. Have you ever done a giant nerdy fst?
MANY. The giantest, nerdiest fst was probably the one that
decacerata and I turned into a subsection of our Yami no Matsuei website, but it is far from alone. I have done various FSTs for the Legion of Superheroes reboot, Yami, Lawful Drug, Strangers In Paradise, Harry Potter, Clover, Air Gear, I.N.V.U., Rule of Rose, Princess Tutu, FMA, xxxHolic, Prince of Tennis, CFUD itself, and... undoubtedly more that I can't remember just at the moment. I MAKE SOUNDTRACKS A LOT. Music is very important to me.
And if you ask me to, I will provide you with song(s) from these fsts.
5. What is your faaaavorite soundtrack?
As far as compilation soundtracks go, either the Daredevil soundtrack (hated the movie, but you can't have everything) or the Love Actually soundtrack (it's a little uneven, but it makes me smile and wibble.) As far as scores, the soundtrack for Adolescence of Utena.
brittyone asked me...
1) How'd you get into Vocaloid? It was only a month or two ago I realized who the blue-haired girl in your icons is. Oops.
IIRC, I was randomly linked to Servant of Evil a few months after it was released- sort of a friend showed it to a friend chain of linkage XD And then I spent a couple of days wandering around on wiki and youtube to see what this interesting program was. I am not a very hardcore Vocaloid fan, but I enjoy watching the lovely creative music videos that fandom puts out.
2) Any reason why "partners/dependent on someone" seems to be an app pattern for you?
It's just one of my bulletproof kinks. I like synergy. I like what it does to people. This may be because I myself am a very needy person, and it's interesting to poke at that phenomenon. But enough of armchair psych.
3) What's something you've drawn that you're proud of?
....I'm not proud of my art. I like my concepts, but I'm never proud of my art.
This was published, though, and so it has a special place in my heart. Though it's more of a graphic.
4) What do you like about CLAMP?
I have a love-hate relationship with CLAMP! I think they build up wonderful stories with attractive characters that play HEAVILY to my kinks.... but they fail completely at the followthrough. They were pretty much my first exposure to shounen-ai... even though truthfully that's not their genre at all. And I like that they are willing to reinvent themselves and their style... except that it comes at the price of their current works. So. o7
5) Any particular art style or artists you like?
I like artists who work with extreme confidence, and I like pen and ink. When it comes to famous historical artists, I am frequently more interested in their sketchwork than their finished pieces. Dali, Picasso, and most of the Renaissance artists fall VERY firmly into this category. I love silkscreen, particularly Art Nouveau posters and the work of the 70s. I think these are my biggest influences.
I love Russian laquer boxes and Babylonian wall reliefs. I have a huge amount of respect for painters (I can't paint at all), and again, go for the confidant ones. The people who dab a brush across a surface and you KNOW it's lace and ribbons, because they told you so. Velazquez is my idol of the painting world, but Titian, Degas, and Monet too.
My favorite current illustrators and James Jean, Yuko Shimizu, Rebecca Guay, Sterling Hundley, and Leo and Diane Dillon.
Manga, tbh, I mostly think of as "pretty," not artistic. I lean towards art that is in the middle ground between shounen and shoujo. I do NOT always like CLAMP, but I do think that CLOVER was a masterpiece when it came to their layouts. Paradise Kiss' art also kind of tops me.
