A little knock to the head

This post is going to be a bit of a mixture.

In terms of the job I mentioned two days ago, I didn't get it, which is depressing. I know I can expect to loose many other posts before I get one and I know that just getting better at interview skills is a worthwhile thing. But it is depressing nonetheless, and it hit me hard.

I've also been exercising a lot over the past few weeks. As part of that, the Saturday before last, I went walking with a friend. We were having a difficult personal conversation and, as a result, I walked straight into a buttress on the canal path we were following. This gave me a mild concussion.

That probably would have healed OK, but I was a bit active when I shouldn't have been. I did another long canal side walk on Thursday and, instead of taking Friday easy, like my body said I needed to, I went and helped out with Transgender Day of Remembrance. TDOR is not easy at the best of times, but it was particularly hard this year. Still, I promised to help and I did and anything I can do to take some load away from the TransLondon organiser is a good thing in my mind.

However, I've been spending time recovering over the weekend. I never quite recovered after activity the previous week and it's all caught up with me. But, the good news is that I am getting stronger. I even did a bit of light Zumba without ill effects. I'm not sure how things would have been like without the concussion, but I suspect quite good.
