I generally don't do things at the last minute any more. But I've been putting off doing the London Olympics ticket application and I did it at the very last possible minute. I've applied for two tickets to the women's foil fencing qualifiers. Since I've fenced before, it should be cool to see good fencing. On the other hand, it might not be a great spectator sport given the speed at which good fencers fight. I'm very lucky they let my application through as it was past the deadline by a few minutes. That's very nice of them.
I'd have liked to apply to a few other events too, like the paralympic basketball. But the problem with the application process is that you have no idea how much they're going to hit you for tickets if you're successful, and I can't afford much at the moment.
At this moment, I generally want to go to the Olympics for one thing. I don't really care what I see, but I want to see one thing only. I'll be involved in volunteering for it, and I want to go see it. If I can do both, I'll be pretty happy.
Also dad has applied to see the canoeing. He wasn't going to apply at all. *grin* The Olympics have gotten him too!
