For your information it is possible to clean a vacuum cleaner hose using Mr Muscle Foaming Sink Unblocker. In the event any of you need to undertake this insane endevour, the following points are advised:
1) The sink blocker is caustic, don't touch it. Don't touch the hose. Even an hour later
2) If the sink unblocker foams too much, save some of it and use it later.
3) If at first you don't succeed, use the second batch and it might happen.
4) Fencing foils make really, really good solid unblocking agents.
5) When rincing out the hose with water, be careful not to get it all over the floor, yourself and anything around you.
Other than that, it's a fairly good way to do it really.
