While I'm sitting here utterly floored by the response to "Freedom's Just Another Word" (omg thank you, guys, I really just can't believe the feedback, and the honesty and thought in nearly every single comment makes me laugh or cry or just touches me immensely; that having been said, uh, it's gonna take me a little while longer to finish replying ( Read more... )

I just read that, the boyfriend thing--so funny...

And I haven't posted feedback for your story yet, mostly because I loved it, so much, and at the same time I am So. Damn. Mad. At the writers on the show, for not loving their characters enough to make them as real as you do (and many of the other fandom writers). So my feedback kept devolving into a rant about the show, which I figured was probably not my best choice.

No, dude, really, I am always up for a good rant about how the writers are treating the characters, because it's too good and yet not good enough at all and it annoys the hell out of me. So please, rant ahoy. :)

(And thank you. *g*)

Checked out the ex-boyfriends... quite hilarious although too far from my personal paradigm to apply... but I don't have any problem with experience by proxy.

Re: the show's writers? without a doubt, I only watch the downloads to establish the visual... otherwise I go to the LJ/online writers for the ~de facto~ story...

I realize I have expectations that are not going to be met by most commercial productions... I'm just thrilled that there are brilliant writers (yourself included) that can deliver...

I think there are some shows that do live up to my oh-so-very-high expectations, but they're few and really far between ... and, okay, most of the ones I can think of are anime instead of western TV, but parts of Buffy come to mind, and (though I've not yet watched it) I've been told that BSG might, also...

But in the end, sometimes it's the fanfic that saves the day. :)

I am meant to be going about mending my ways and leaving feedback on fic that I have read, but you got me so utterly distracted by your latest that I have been somewhat derailed.

A most amusing post about boyfriends. I feel I've got a few more to meet in my life yet.

Or hope that you don't meet them, perhaps ... :)

Well, there is that point! Perhaps see from a distance and run away?

2 plot bunnies for you re: freedomverse

1 - time travel. mckay has to go back for some reason
2 - john left a note or video for rodney in case he died. He's only getting it x years later for y reason

also? one where someone (Rodney? Harris?) goes back to Atlantis and revives her. (by the way. the giving of plot bunnies to authors who have just finished incredibly long, gorgeous fics is some kind of 5th level of hell offense, i'm sure.)

oh! I like the Harris idea on some level...but I think I would ony really like it if he went back with Rodney.

Also...people don't hate me, but what about Harris/Rodney?? I think this author is actually talented enough to pull it off (which is about the highest compliment ever).
