* anna_luna sent me this drawing of JD in the kitchen from the Mezzanine 'verse for Christmas, and it is awesome (ask anyone who was here at New Year's -- did I not show it to EVERYONE and squeal about it?)

Oh, and hey. Could we do the "introduce everyone" thing again? I seemed to have missed it and could only reliably identify like 4 people the last time I went.

That sounds *tasty*. Seeing as how I will still be 2700 miles away (rather than a doable 270) on Sunday, I must ask whether the recipe has been posted anywhere. So, has the recipe been posted anywhere?

It hasn't. But here it is:

Stealth Spicy Lentil Dip (which comes from when you thought you had some yogurt to make dip with and discovered you didn't, and your guests are showing up in 20 minutes.)

6 cups water
2 cups lentils
5-6 chicken bullion cubes
12-15 whole peppercorns
4-5 bay leaves
1 large onion (or two medium), chopped
3-4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 pound kielbasa or smoked sausage (I like the Smithfield Smoked Sausage), sliced into rounds or chunks

1 Tbls paprika
3 Tbls cider vinegar

In a crockpot, put the first eight ingredients. Cook on high for 6-8 hours or until the lentils are done. Add last two ingredients. Cook for another couple of hours.

Get 4 servings out of it.

Put the remaining cup or cup and a half of lentils (without any of the meat or bay leaves and only leave in the peppercorns if you want it really spicy) in a food processor. Blend until smooth.

Serve as a yummy spicy lentil dip with veggies.
