Okay, I'm dithering.

Who out there hasn't read any of the drafts of Cairo Is Burning and hasn't been part of talking-things-over-in-AIM with me, and wants to read the alpha draft with a fresh set of eyes and tell me if I've got one book with a really sharp divide in the middle that needs to be smoothed over, or two books that need a better

I don't think I'll be much help--don't know enough about the canon and my editing skills mostly lie in finding and fixing teeny oopses and asking questions about varying sizes of plot holes--but if you want to send it to me, I'd like to read it.
