cue the crescendoing entrance music
For the past few months, I've been kicking around the idea of starting up a blog, then thinking I might not have enough time/a unique enough perspective/aren't I supposed to be writing novels and things?
The other day it occurred to me I could just actually, you know, update this journal. So, I'm going to do that. Also I'm going to be doing more public entries -- like this one -- so I can try flexing my blogging muscles. I'll be posting things under a friends lock, still, if they're more personal or whatever. And still writing. (I'm working on an outline for this possibly-too-adventurous project... I keep putting it off so I can do things like watch the new episode of Parenthood because I am awesome at procrastinating while still on winter break.)
My parents moved to Arkansas in stages over the past year, and, having been born in the Chicago suburbs and in love with that magical city, I wasn't at all sure about Arkansas. But I actually love it a lot? I'm writing this in an Arkansan coffee shop, though, so maybe the coffee has me biased. A couple the next table over is planning their wedding and I've switched over to decaf. It's a good time.
Also, although I am one of the least avid sports watchers ever, all the Razorback love is completely charming. Who knows, one of these days I may even watch a game.
