Well, I haven't updated this thing for a very very long time. Mostly, this was due to the fact that I have nothing interesting to say or write about and also, I am relatively lazy. In any case, I will "catch" people up on anything of interest I can remember. The last week was spring break, and for me there was no break. I still had work and still had tons of homework to do, but I did enjoy the fact that I didn't have to leave in the afternoon for classes that night. And I got some well needed boozing in. Parking is still a bitch at Southern.
This past weekend, I went to Van Cortland Park in the Bronx for my team's Northeast seeding games. After 2 days of pretty damn intense rugby (see image) against 2 rivals, we (New Haven, CT, and more specifically, my team) are ranked the second best team in the Northeast. First would be better, but I am not complaining mainly because the team from the mid-atlantic region of the US has to travel up here. A few weeks ago, I traveled on a mini "tour" through the mid-Atlantic, playing teams in DC, PA, and MD. The trip was fun (though exhausting) and we won all of our games. I also, got to play quite a bit since coming off the injury. I had a brief scare when I took a knee, or an elbow, or something hard to side of the head and I started seeing flashed temporarily, but they have since been gone. YAY. Nonetheless, I invested in a scrum-cap, which for those who do not know is literally a 3/8 in. thick foam head covering. We both know that it does very little in actual protection against trauma, other than protecting me against scrapes and the bottom of aluminum cleats, hehe.
School is school, and right now it sucks. I gotta say, I will be grateful when I am done, but I still have to student teach as well as pass the PRAXIS 2. Unlike most of my friends who are secondary ed. majors, i have to pass this test before I finish student teaching, otherwise student teaching becomes an incomplete, which in turn becomes an F after a dictated amount of time. I thought that was nice of the state to add that little extra pressure.
Really, not that many interesting events have taken place, or it's been so long I have forgotten, and I will try to update once a week.
