The fucking house flooded again. And we'd only recovered from the flood in 2001 about two years ago.

We got really lucky though. There's houses down the street with trees through them. We never lost power here and already have cable back, while about 70% of Houston is still without electricity.

Man, I still remember when you had that first flood. Carpet cleaning and whatnot. Didn't it happen around your birthday as well? Heh.

I honestly don't remember what time of year Allison hit in 2001.

I spent two days helping the family rip out carpet and toss it out. We're just gonna say fuck it and tile the whole house this time; ripping out wet carpet is such a pain in the ass. It's heavy, smelly, mildewy and gritty. Fuck doing that ever again.
