wow! your commuter is so old! gotta love heirloom-style hand-me-downs that are so useful - not just on-the-shelf items. and it's cool that your family are on lj too! my brother had one for a while, but it's not frequented at all these days.
hehe! i need to find a bike store near my new place to be a regular at :) i was told when i got it about this time last year that it should be serviced at least once a month to keep it tuned.. at AU$50 a pop and the bike itself was only 10x that amount i thought that that was a bit unrealistic. one year later it's still never been serviced.. naughty me - i should do that next pay perhaps.
i just have the one.. it's a cheaper 2007 giant mountain bike. it's my baby. when i bought it i had done my research and new exactly what i wanted - just said to the guy "i want this bike, in this size. one to get around on the road but also one that i can throw down a set of stairs if i get the urge!" hehe. i don't mind the extra workout of having to push the air out of the way of my nobbly tyres - but i do need to get a bit fitter, just need more endurance and uphill strength training on it :P
do you find your racer hard to maintain? i've heard good and bad things, like it's good being lightning fast but bad having to get the right pressure in the tyres.
