Oscar Predictions!
Here be my Oscar predictions for most major categories.... keep in mind I (sadly) haven't seen most of these films but I read the newspaper alot, & I've been following the awards season, so I'm mostly basing my predictions on that.
If you don't want to read them, just let me say this: all the films nominated for Best Picture had screenings at the Toronto Film Fest. I think that's pretty darn awesome & really says something about our festival.
Major congrats to Ellen Page, the Canadian press loves her lots right now; I was watching CBC News Halifax (her hometown) yesterday & her Oscar nomination was the top news story.
Also shout-outs to Sarah Polley for "Away From Her" & Jason Reitman for "Juno." Canadians also make up 2 of the Best Animated Feature nominations.

Also, ramble: everyone is saying "OMG Sean Penn got snubbed a nomination for directing "Into The Wild"!" Ugh, no he didn't. The directing was not that amazing, in my opinion. The story was great, Emilie Hirsch was great (he got snubbed, in my opinion), but the directing not so much. Argue with me if you must....
