Basically: from a more academic perspective I like fandom stuff because it's often using remixes of the text to respond to the text in a more meaningful way. And the way you structured all of this, the way you edited scenes and put them together-- it's practically a visual dialogue and absolutely the embodiment of how this sort of derivative creation is just an amazing way to look at stuff. I really have no praise to offer any vid or fic or anything that's higher than that, and you just got it all SO right.
I cherish your comment bc you applied the words "academic perspective" to this vid. It really means a lot as the text is so RICH and I hope this vid brings some discussion to the table. I certainly learned a lot while making it. In other words, WHEEE! THANK YOU!!! :DDDDDD
Seconding the academic perspective here-if I were a good enough academic instead of a bottom-of-the-food-chain baby postgrad, I would gladly write the shit out of something in fan culture academia based on this vid alone. It's jaw-dropping. Absolutely amazing, and so, so powerful. Thank you for making it. ♥
I know what you mean. After I made it I felt I needed to post a huge accompanying essay with it, because creating this vid made me see SO MUCH in the text that maybe I hadn't picked up on before. But then ultimately I felt I should let the vid speak for itself and have the audience take away whatever they want to take away from it. So thanks for watching! I'm thrilled you enjoyed it. :D
