Some fella: Eh, s-man. I want to buy DSLR. What brand should I buy??
S-man: Sony.
SF: Huh? Sony good meh? I heard their cameras no good. And most people buy Canon or Nikon.
SM: But you asked for my opinion, what. And my opinion is that Sony is best.
SF: Okay. Other than Sony, which brand should I get?
SM: Either Canon or Nikon.
Generally, I find that when S'poreans ask for your opinions, they aren't really looking for opinions. It's more like they want re-affirmation of their pre-set decisions.
