ahhh...yet another thing I'd do if I won a lottery. The timing is too perfect to be believed. See, gas vehicles are on their way out, but it will require an overhaul on the part of auto corporations. And...maybe it's time for that. I mean, seriously, the governments and the media are all over the "green" movement (about 30 years too late), so why not join up? If the big auto manufacturers started making affordable (less than $10K) electric cars, they would have a market with courier services, postal services, delivery drivers...The possibilities are there. Once those are in view and become commonplace, your consumer market will follow. How many families need a second vehicle? What's the sense of buying a beater to get back and forth to work or for groceries, when an electric car is the same price, costs less to run and maintain, and doesn't have the gas emissions problem?

The page above is a link to people, hobbyists, who've had their cars converted from gas engines to fully electric motors. One of the issues I have with SmartCars is that they're both tiny and ugly as sin (although this could be an advantage, since there'd be no place to put the amount of junk I usually carry around in my car!!). Same with ZAP vehicles, and many of the hybrids I've seen. And hybrids still use gasoline. The people above use existing cars and overhaul the engine (check the VW bug!). Dayam, I wish I were handy with cars, I'd do that in a heartbeat! And honestly, what do I use a car for except to drive around town? I take the train or bus on the (exceedingly rare) occasion when I go somewhere else. The argument is that $10k is a lot of money to spend on a car that has limited uses, but the amount of money I spend on car plus gas and maintenance for the same uses makes up for it...

Oh well. Not gonna happen, not in my lifetime anyway. Gas and oil have too much invested to allow it to happen, which is silly because they could make plenty of money if they joined in, rather than suppressing...

Not much else is new. I've been incredibly lethargic, apathetic, and bordering on paralytic (is that a word) lately. As usual. I just can't seem to get motivated to get anything accomplished, even the projects on hand.
