TeeVee Observations

Since I'm here on LJ posting, I might as well dip into some observations about my TV watching habits that I find... most perturbatory.

First off, my favourite shows currently are Life, Dexter and Burn Notice. Notice how these aren't fantasy / sci-fi shows. If you know me then you will know this is greatly bothersome, as I'm a huge (like 900 feet!) ( Read more... )

From the written description The Mentalist sounded like a "We R Seriuhs" version of Psych so we didn't bother to watch it. We love Psych!

Fringe- watched the 1st ep and liked it, but my PVR is filling up with other eps while I watch more brain candy-ish type of stuff, like...

Bones- one of my favorites. Funny and forensics, characters that I care about. Interesting every week in new and gross ways.

Primeval- Oh god, I thought I would give it a try because I really enjoy Dr. Who and Torchwood, but if the writers are not completely mental then the editors translating from Brit to American TV need to be fired. There were plot holes and time gaps you could drive a truck through in the first episode. Watched the second ep, and decided I just didn't care.

Heroes- Have only watched the season premiere. Was annoyed at Mohinder's stupidity, and got worried when I saw a German into magnetics was going to pop up, but I will still watch. Gotta have my super-hero fix somehow.

Lost- We were completely addicted, and then...just lost interest. I like to think I have a lot of patience, but get annoyed when I find myself begging for a bone, a scrap, any little thing to keep me coming back around.

Sarah Connor and BSG- liked these shows, but somehow got into only watching it when a cable-deficient friend comes around...and he hasn't been around in a while darn it.

Supernatural- LOVE IT! But am seeing a trend ala The X-Files where they seem to be moving away from the urban legend/creature of the week to a whole big mythology arc, and I like my weekly weird creatures.

Pushing Daisies- can't wait until Wednesday!

Sanctuary- could be interesting. We will see on Friday.
