Damn... Chrono Reality Gnomes be hatin'!

And there I was thinking that the near-meaningless man-made time-cycle change would be the harbinger of better times. Let's see...

+ A fave actor (Heath Ledger) dies unexpectedly. Check.

+ A fave writer makes himself look like Hyper-John Byrne (or how Byrne is generally perceived; I have no axe to grind with him) as a result of the aforementioned Check Point. Check.

+ One of my all-time beloved game lines, which had been recently revived, is brought down because no one (corporately) gives a flying fuck about the games or property anymore. In other words, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd Edition and the Warhammer 40k RPG bite the big one. Check.

+ A slam-dunk of a property that is pretty damn profitable is turned into one of the worst disasters I've ever seen animated and voiced. By this I mean Dragonlance. Part of Steve's Childhood successfully prison-sexed: Check.

+ More seriously, new health issues have popped up in my family recently, and look like The Big C. Awesome. Check.

There's more, I'm sure, but that's what I think of right off the bat. One really good thing: The painfully slow Canadian medical system has moved Drake's evaluation (to find out exactly why he is the way he is) up by 6 months, which means we have to only wait a month or so. Yay! Also, we own a great new house. So it's not ALL bad. I was just thinking of the bad things and getting bummed.

My sympathies to the folks who work (or worked, as of the future) for Black Industries. You lot made some fine products that have provided me endless hours of entertainment. I hope you continue to work in the industry in some way.

As for me, I can grimly smile at the prospect that it could always be worse. I'm a pretty lucky guy, considering. Hey Fate, I guess I'm tempting you, huh?

Edited to add: You know what's really tempting? FATE!!!! I think I'll play it later. It's been awhile. :D

etc, family, stuff, bummed, gaming
