***NOTE***
This one will only make since
to people who play the Sims.
---------------------------------------------->
Okay, This is the big one!!!
I'm attempting the Meshing file editing. And it's the most confusing and frustrating thing I have ever tried. Building things on the sims 2 game comes naturally to me. Seeing as I have been playing the sims since it first came out. (Sims 1) But I tried plunging deeper under the skin of creating. The most sot after process that just about everybody is in, so it seems (to me). And After reading numerous tutorials I have come to a conclusion, It is this:
It just CAN'T be this complicated!!
I'm pretty computer/creation savvy when it comes to things like this. Classes, experience, Web browsing, and common knowledge. But I have just been through the most frustrating few hours of my life! Going to MOD the Sims2 site and reading many, many threads, I am just overwhelmed! I found the easiest to understand still giving me a headache. Step by step help, That is the easy part of it. But now as I read on, I need all this stuff to do it right. Supposedly.
So, first I got the "Body Shop Maintenance" program. But nooo, That just wasn't enough for me. I just Haaad to be more Creative. Ugh. Wanting desperately to work with MESH I got the "Milkshape" program. the I needed the "Unimesh Plugin" as well. As I read on, I require More.. The "SimPE" Is the BIG one apparently. So I got that too... which would only work if I had ".NET framework v2.0", which of course, I did not.. So I got THAT... and I can't seem to work it in right. Right? So what now?
well, now I am at a holding point. Is Meshing really this hard? Coz there are little fourteen year olds (and younger) out there doing this.
Is all this really necessary?
Is there some miracle that could save me the time and effort?
I'm pointing towards "NO".
and just for some reason I think that there are people who know things I don't, and they just wont share the info! Greedy Simmers.. The information should be right out front. For everyone. And there should be ONE program all "meshed" together to help us all. This just isn't fair!
If I get this program to work any more, I'll update this.. So, for now, I will tweak and prod and poke at this issue that I have. (The programs are for body meshing, hair meshing, and even object meshing, If I could WORK it dammit!!)
Well, here I go.
---------------------------------->
After much, MUCH frustration, I have done it!
I feel so fulfilled! Complete even! Haha..
Well, not really. But I feel fucking smart!
It's now 5AM and I am now in the editing process stage of this whole thing. MilkShape is awesome. Working with the skeleton figures and what not. I remember it from Animation class. But never this extensive. Amazing. And I continue. Even though I have to get up early. :[
It's a long process, indeed.
