might as well do a little recapping while i sit around the office, waiting for a board meeting to start!
september 4-6
evan's parents were already at the house when i got home friday. we spent the afternoon and evening at home visiting and playing with the baby. my friend eric is applying for a passport and had already turned in a birth certificate and 5 page questionnaire, but for some reason they were also requesting yearbook photos! we went to the same school for three years and i still had my yearbooks, so he and martha came over. we all had pizza and laughed our asses off looking at the yearbooks, especially the one from dahlgren.
evan had his first paying photography job on saturday morning, for one of his former coworkers. i'm sure that he was nervous, but i was so proud of him for going. after that, we all headed to my parents house for a cookout. while we were there, evan's grandparents arrived from pennsylvania. we met them at our house that evening and spent time visiting and, as always, playing with the baby.
sunday we met my parents and the mulligans at the bowling alley. we played a few games and had lunch there. i did better than i have in the past, so it was fun. evan's adorable little grandmother (who i believe is in her 80's) nursed a beer the entire time - it was hilarious! we went to cracker barrel that evening for a delicious dinner. evan and i never go there on our own, but i usually enjoy it. i played a game of scrabble with evan's parents, and a few games of nertz with evan's dad. it was a nice little visit. everyone left monday morning.
september 11-13
friday was our company "picnic." every year that i've been here, they've done the same old thing out at ben lomond park. this year we went to a bowling alley, and it turned out to be really fun, even though i didn't know anyone on my team. evan and i had a quiet night at home.
we did a lot of chores saturday. evan and his dad recharged the battery and replaced the taillight on my honda the week before; this weekend evan got the cd player working and i cleaned everything out. now the car just needs to be washed/waxed/vacuumed and we can finally try to sell that piece to carmax. we also did all the laundry, dishes, made a trip to costco and to the grocery store. we watched i love you, man and it was actually really funny.
sunday we went over to krystle and gavin's to eat snacks and watch football for most of the afternoon. our fantasy football team got crushed. oh well, there's always next week!
