[He can't have been gone that long. Hours, maybe a day or so. Just long enough for Liz to start worrying, but not long enough to get that reaction from the other girl.]
[Jackie hears the voice before she sees him, and she's out of the room in a few seconds to see if Kirika and Liz heard it too. When she sees Kid standing there she isn't sure whether to hit him, cry, or hug him.
She settles for standing there and pretending she isn't quite as relieved as she is. Kid didn't remember how close they used to be anyway so there wasn't any use.]
This is going to start getting a little old you realize? [Her voice is teasing because it makes it easier to swallow over the lump in her throat.]
[She would probably agree with Jackie but it didn't matter. Her shock look slowly fades to a calm smile. No words could express how happy she is to see him again.]

[She really isn't just dreaming.
Liz sat bolt upright, which quickly turned into a scramble to go to the door. She needed to see him with her own eyes.
So she rushed, stopping just short behind Kirika with her hand pressed down on one of her shoulders to keep herself from bowling the poor girl over.]
Kid...
[She stood there shell-shocked for a few seconds more, and then put on a weak smile while her eyes welled up with tears. Man, what a sap she is turning out to be...]

Huh...?
[Did she hear her name?
She brought her hand up and adjusted her hat, scooting up slowly to sit up.]

But when Kid asked, and no one else attempted to answer the question, she fidgeted in place.]
It was... at least a week.

[There's no sugarcoating it; even though she does feel kind of bad, looking at that stunned expression of his.]
Anyway, maybe we should move this conversation out of the doorway.
