Never-Ending Movie Day: A Face in The Crowd (1957)

A Face in The Crowd is one my absolute favorite movies. It was released in 1957, but the *truth* of it is still so very relevant - especially in this day and age. It is timeless in that regard.

It stars Andy Griffith, Patricia Neal, Anthony Franciosa, Walter Matthau, and Lee Remick. Directed by the great Elia Kazan and written by Budd Schulberg, it remains a great and poignant film - Full of funny parts and melodrama, and evolves into a stark realism that makes this film one of the best fictional social commentary movies of all time.

It is very disappointing to me that most people today in my country have never seen it, and probably have never even heard of it. I do recommend it highly - even for those people who might see themselves reflected in Andy's character, Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes. I know of many people like that character in real life, they just don't know that I know that about them.
