Rebox increasing prices next week
Redbox is increasing the price of nightly rentals beginning December 2, 2014. The new rate will be $1.50 for DVDs, $2.00 for Blu-Rays, and on January 6 the price of renting games goes up to $3.00 a day. I received notification this week via e-mail informing me of the rate change starting next week. Not a lot of notice there. :/
Redbox and Verizon Communications recently canned their streaming subscription service, something that took a lot of people by surprise. Again, the notice was just a week before. Redbox corporate seems to fly by the seat of their pants with their decision making, that's for sure! You want to give people a month or two notice, not a week. That's just poor business practice.
