not once but twice on saturday, someone said to me, "oh, i really think you'd like __________. you two should get together when he comes back from iraq."
it's odd because:
1. i don't strike myself as someone who others would think is dying to date the military
and 2. up to this point i haven't really had any interaction with people or people who know people who are in the war. but now my next door neighbor is shipping out any day (apparently our parents have been plotting our romance for years. they're the "dog killers" if anyone is familiar with my neighborhood history. i have to admit, he got a lot hotter once he started doing rotc in college... back to the point!) and my new friend's 22-year-old brother (yay new friend!) is going back for a third time even though he got a purple heart last time for being shot.
this is where a snappy concluding statement would go, if i had one.
