Summary: The Noah Clan has mostly recovered from the battles on the Ark. However, Tiki's new habit of drinking alone at midnight is only one of the things worrying Devit.

Melancholy )
Though if that DOES happen for the world to be made anew...then who left is there? O.o I know when Rhode told Allen that 'God gave us and the Earl Akuma so we can destroy you all' and Allen goes 'That's no God, that's the Devil', Rhode goes 'It doesn't matter' so I suppose they don't really care WHAT happens so long as everything is destroyed. That WOULD be depressing if they all died though. D: lol the Earl, god knows where he even WAS for those thousands of years after the Flood. That's creepy. (Oh god yes, she'd dress everyone up really pretty and candy would be the new staple diet!) XD
Welcome. :D haha yeah it was a bit different but that's what made it interesting. I swear I'm on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next with the angstytwins.

Utena is awesome, so long as you don't mind never quite understanding what's going on. But in what other story is the princess also a prince, the witch also a princess, and the prince also the Devil?
Rhode's dialogue in that scene was another clue that the Noahs are Evil, in case the readers needed a clue. That's exactly what Rhodeworld is like.
Poor Devit. Must read end of comiiiic! D:
Now, the Pierrot Jesus lecture. As you've probably noticed, Allen's a Christ figure. He's pure, he wants to save everyone, is willing to sacrifice himself to do so, and he's destined to Save the World. However, he's the only manga character who's a clown-themed Christ figure. I've seen that theme in one other place, the novel Deep River by the Japanese Christian novelist Endou Shuusaku (best known for Silence). One of the motifs in this book was ridiculous clown-like figures who die or suffer in place of others. When Allen got his Crown Clown power-up, it reminded me strongly of this novel. Who knows if Hoshino's read Endou's works and was influenced by them, or if it's just a coincidence.
There you have it. (I think it would be cool if DGray was influenced by modern classics of Japanese literature.)

:O Geezus, wow that's both amazing and complicated lol damn Utena I like understanding what's going on...otherwise I'll be forever thinking about it. XD
Or maybe that's just Rhode, being the First Child and all. She probably instructed the rest of them in her Evil ways. |D Well I'm sure Jasdevi and Skinn would appreciate to some extent. Sherril would love anything Rhode does. Tyki...not so much. XD
Huh. :O That's very true. And what's more what you just said reminded me of this book that was read to me in primary school The Clown of God by Tomie dePaola. It was based on a French legend and is very beautiful and sad. It's about this orphan boy who joins a troupe and becomes the finest juggler in all Italy, and dies as an old man on Christmas Eve performing his art one last time in front of a statue of the child Christ. When the priests find him, they are awed to see that the Christ is holding one of the balls the juggler dropped, smiling and acknowledging his gift. haha I don't think Hoshino ever read that book, but I think it's wonderful that Allen's a Pierrot/Christ figure.
Wow, if that's the case I think I can forgive Hoshino for taking all those weeks off on hiatus in order to do her research. X) One of the main reasons I got into DGM was because of all the fascinating religious subtext/history but that's just me. 8D;

I enjoy books where I don't quite understand what's going on. I can think about it and attempt to figure it out, but even if I don't it's still mysterious and good!
Oh, one of my roommates had that Tomie dePaola book! There's that theme again. :)
