First, the quiz meme that's going around:

Not as much as my boyfriend, but not bad, either. (Okay, I cheated a little on the Slashdot question, but after all, it only asked what the slogan was, not whether I knew it off the top of my head. I also counted tabs instead of windows ( Read more... )

It is, but it can be debated and minds opened by pointing out facts and possibilities. That's what I believe, anyway.

It would absolutely have been better to have killed Mithos years ago, and if Kratos were thinking straight, he'd have known it. But I think he still held onto a little tiny bit of hope that Mithos might return to normal someday...or if not that, then he simply believed himself too powerless. Recall that Mithos was much stronger than he, and while he and Yuan may trust each other to take care of one another, I don't see him trusting Yuan to help him deal with Mithos even if the thought occurred to him. They'd simply grown apart too far.

I think it could possibly still work even though he's a Seraph. It all depends on what Raine sees about him, and how she felt about him before the Tower, and how it carried over...but I think the possibility remains there. Even then, though, it's really hard to keep them together...if anything, I tend to see their relationship as compatible, but lacking a happily ever after. (I even have a songfic that I wrote around that idea.)

*raises a glass of sparkling cider, offering you one as well* To fandom, indeed, and to diversity. ^_^

Oh, I know it was a joke, but it does bring up an interesting point, ne? But yeah, there's plenty of authors willing to mangle characterization that way...

Interesting that you say you can't see Mithos as a rapist...I've had another friend say that as well. For myself, I don't see *Mithos* as a rapist...but Yggdrasill is another matter, a different persona. Rape is about controlling the other person, and Yggdrasill seems to me to have some pretty severe control issues...so for me, it's not too much of a stretch to see him as a rapist. Mithos, though, still retains too much innocence.

-Pokes at her own intolerance- I think I get pretty well what you mean... ^^;

Most likely, yes. Or that eternal sense of guilt as he gnaws on his own liver, or something. ;;; ...Hm. Yeah. >__> -Nods numbly and keeps quiet, having nothing constructive to add-

The chances are much slimmer. And OF COURSE IT CAN WORK. I'm one to believe that ANY pairing, really, ANY, can work, as long as the author is dedicated enough and possesses the, er... minimal respect towards the English language/or whichever one used during the writing, to pull it through. Even as a joke fic. That's what I think, anyway. >__> But yeah., the pairing seems pretty emo on a general level, but there was so much happy in ToS despite the characters' individual depressions that something REAL and SAD might actually feel like a refreshment.

-Pokes glass Wait, what were these made of again? ;;;- Sankyuu~ ^^(;;) -Gulps it down anyway, the cause is definitively more worthy than the content-

-Sweats- The "pity secs" kinda... er, yeah. I think I'll try to avoid that when I attempt to write stuff...

Ah, Mithos. My friend is fond of Yggy, but she absolutely hates Mithos. She views them as two different beings as well, but I guess I never really felt the same way you guys did. I can see Mithos as Yggy, but with an older body and that's it. But agreed... He looks enough of one. Even the spandex and the girly looks can't hide it... >__<;

The Kraine fic is called On The Balcony, on my ff.net account, if you want to have a look and tell me what you think. Keep in mind that it was a gift for a friend's birthday.

...Er, do you not like sparkling apple cider? My family always gives it to the kids instead of champagne...

The way I see it, Mithos is so messed up that he's actually formed something of a split personality. Yggdrasill is the strong adult persona he takes on when Mithos is too weak...just like he was too weak to save Martel. And he does regard himself, the child Mithos, as weak, and therefore unworthy, which is why he created this other self in the first place. I'm sure that Yggdrasill was originally just a mask for him to wear to pretend to be strong, but if you pretend to be someone else for long enough, it can be hard to tell which one is real anymore; they take on a life of their own, and I believe that's what's happened to Mithos.

...I think I'll do it one at a time, ;;;. If I am to check anything you wrote that's not ZK, I think I'll start with Tin Soldiers, ^^; -Not ready for anything romance yet-

I've never had any in my life, so I'm not really sure what it tastes like. ^^;

...Of course. ._. Though interesting how a friend of mine saw it vice-versa; Mithos being the manipulative brat and Yggy as HIS slave, what he uses (Yggy's body) to control Cruxis in a more authoritative figure. My own perception is different as well, though I think I'll stick to it... Still, it IS fascinating to get to know what others think and how they perceive things... o__o
