So okay, explanation. Monday I had been having pain in my hips but I didn't think anything of it, I figured I just slept on them in a weird way. Then Tuesday I woke up and my throat was sore and swollen again, and my neck was killing me. Also, my other joints were all hurting. I figured it was no big deal, really, that I was just having weird cramps. For you see, I had slept with Marti in the top bunk of his room that night, because of the bugs in my room. Let me tell you... those beds are small. Anyway, around the time of my voice lesson, the pain got a lot worse, and Johannes said I should be tested for Lyme Disease. I called dad, and he said to see if I could go to a doctor on an urgent care basis, and if not to go to the emergency room. Throughout this time, my temperature started to rise, but I was still getting chills. So I stayed for Regina's class and then Garrit and Marti took me to the emergency room. When we got there, my temperature was over 100. They ruled out Lyme Disease because of the lack of deer in New York City, but they thought it was pneumonia. So they did chest x-rays but my lungs looked okay. So they figure I have a 'viral illness'. That caused the fever, and the fever caused the pain. I have to be steadily taking ibuprofen all day in 600 mg doses, and if my fever comes back I have to go back to the er. If it doesn't come back, I just have to go to a clinic for a check-in tomorrow.
Can I just say that I love love LOVE Garrit Guadan and Marti Cummings for coming to the hospital with me and sitting in the waiting room for 3 of the 4 hours we were there. They absolutely played parents to me, and it helped so much because I was so scared. As much as I want Garrit to be an RA, because it's what he wants, I also kind of don't want him to be, because that means the 3 of us will room together next semester. And also--- the Strat is just a crappy place to live. It's like... well if Seton Keough had a dorm... yeah. Anyway, that's the news for now. I'm heavily medicated, and Marti and Garrit are my two favorite men in the whole wide world. As much as I love love love them though, I cannot WAIT to go home to Shiraz this weekend. Liz has started at MICA, but I doubt that means we won't be seeing each other. Well... I really hope that's not what it means anyway, because I lurve her. Okay. Nap time before class. Goodbaaaahye.
