Almost a month ago, I paid my alma mater to send my official to the university where I want to take my masters. Then I get a letter from the new place saying I only took X credits - that’s a whole lot less than I paid for, baby. What happened to the rest?
Call Alma Mater this morning for info. “Hello, I’m me. Where are my transcripts?
“What’s your name? Did we ever hear from you? One moment please.”
(New voice) What’s your name? How do you spell it? Did you come into this office or a different office or over the internet?
(me) I filled out the forms in your office, paid in your office, and got a receipt in your office. No other office. No internet.
(Alma) Your credit card didn’t go through. You can fill out your transcript request form again.
(me) What do you mean? I filled it out almost a month ago, and the new place got a half-thing! Did half my fee go through???
(Alma) You can fill it out over the internet or at the office.
(me) *headdesk* will it go through faster through the net or in person?
(Alma) Oh, in person.
(me) how late are you open?
(Alma) Until 7:00
(me) *goes to work. Takes mass transit from work to Alma.*
*Gets to Alma at 5:40 with paper trasnscript request form*
(Alma lab tech) The computer lab is closing.
(me) can I just look up an address?
(Alma) No, I’m leaving in a minute, I’m going to close down the system.
(me) Just one minute? So I can fill out this form?
(Alma) No!
(me) *goes to registrar’s office.* *notices bursar’s office is dark, wonders how payment will be processed*
(Alma’s registrar drone) We’re closing up.
(me) What? But when I called this morning, I was told you’d be open until 7:00! And it’s not even 6 yet.
(Alma) Sorry? Someone made a mistake.
(me) But I just need -
(Alma) *locks door, walks away.*
(me) *headwall* Alma, remind me what this school spirit thing was?
