Making pumpkin pie this afternoon. The world (or, at least, this apartment) needs more pumpkin pie.
Convergence: The Joy of Cooking has a recipe which is almost identical to the one printed on the inside of the wrapper of the pumpkin tin. I'm using the one in the book, except of course for doubling the quantities of all the spices. (Except the nutmeg, which I "measured" in my usual way, viz., by grating nutmeg into the bowl until I got tired of grating nutmeg into the bowl.)
I'll let you know how it turns out. The dough for the crust is still chilling in the fridge, so there's still plenty of time for something to go horribly wrong.
In other news,
the state of Michigan out-Albertas Alberta. Sigh.
Today SP's Hebrew school class used rocks and playdough to create their own versions of
Tel Aviv's "crazy house" (181 HaYarkon). How this connects to the curriculum I have no idea, but whatever. Possibly SP's teacher will write about it on her class blog this week.
