A/N: It was Nik who said she wanted a development of a snippet of a scene from another story, where Willie references the time Barn locked him in the cellar, in the dark. She wanted to know why Barn would do that. Well, cutting down that damned tree is why, of course!

Of course I did, because I was as much in love with these characters as she was.

A/N: I had to call my brother in law to find out what they used to call Thanksgiving back in Barnabas’ day, and of course he knew, because he’s totally cool like that. As for Barnabas, he never could appreciate a nice Pilgrim hat.

Gina, for her part, comes up to the Old House and stirs up the pot a little when she realizes that Barnabas was not responsible for her having wood to warm her through the winter.
A/N: Gina turned into our little wolverine in this story, and she can’t stand that Barnabas Collins, which made it even more fun.

Barnabas is non too pleased, Gina Lee is sure Barnabas is being cruel and stingy about the whole thing, and Willie just wants his headache to go away.
A/N: Part of the problem is that Nik and I felt what Polly and Danny and Gina Lee felt in that we couldn’t get enough of the boy, and we ended up torturing him beyond all reason.

A/N: Willie should get some rest, that’s all I have to say about it.

Barnabas comes upon the two of them, and Polly knows right away that he’s the mean, mean boss because he won’t admire the new scratch on her knee. Willie takes her home and is in plenty of trouble for having uninvited guests.
A/N: Oh, my god this kid gets herself into almost as much trouble as Willie does!

Naturally, in spite of the typically upbeat tone of the 4th, this particular holiday is laced with memories.Since I have only a single, undated printed copy of the story, I am unsure of the date Nik wrote it. But given the text, I believe this story takes place at some point after Home Among the Dead but before Stone.

Author's Notes: For a long time I wanted to write a companion piece to Velveteen Hutch. I loved the idea of having both of them made of soft material, and yes, I based the titles on the children's books. Velveteen Hutch was, so they tell me, well-received, and the original publisher of that fanfic, Linda Cabrillo, wanted a companion piece even before the ink was dry on the first piece. That was some 15 years ago, and since then, I’ve had it in the back of my head that I would oblige her.

He tries to hide it from Hutch, but, of course, Hutch is too smart and finds out anyway. Care and maintenance ensues, Hutch style.
Author's Notes: This one was fun to write because I sometimes think that Starsky's nonchalance hides a more troubled soul than he would like to let on. I love comfort stories, where the hurt is long in the past, and I love it when the boys take care of each other.Sky Blue and Black is located on Flamingo’s Starsky and Hutch Archive.

Author’s Notes: This is a rather dark, longer story that came out of my desire to put the boys through hell. One day, I heard Jackson Browne’s song (from whence came the title for the story) on the radio. I floated home while listening the lyrics, which seemed to be a combination of love and hate, hope and despair, and the mixed-up emotions that two people in love might very easily share. The title, as well, seemed provocative, as blue and black are the color of bruises.
So I wrote the story, see. I put Hutch through hell and made Starsky watch. Then I made Hutch watch while Starsky went through hell. Then I made Hutch leave so Starsky could suffer some more trying to find him. Then I let them be together in the same room, but they had to reveal the most painful of secrets. Then I made them re-live the events of the original torture…and in the end, it was a pretty dark story.

Author’s Notes: This is a slash story about two men who love each other, and who, as David Soul once said, “just happened to be cops.” It’s pure romance from start to finish. The title comes from a line from a collection of poems by Haklil Gibran called “The Prophet.” The line is as follows: “And ever has it been that loves knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.” From there follows many, many pages of angst, grumpiness, insomnia all set against the stage of a lovely, hot L.A. summer. Part of the fun is that the boys don’t understand just how close they’ve become over the years, and what exactly it is that they like about each other. Of course, there’s a happy ending, with no torture, at least not the regular kind, heh-heh-heh. The story was a joy to write, and I really got into the whole L.A. atmosphere, and the heat, and just how mean the boys could be to each other, even when they were trying like anything to get along.

The two decide to go fishing together, as they had once discussed, and find the opportunity to talk about what they did with that sub, and what it meant. In addition, they find the opportunity to discover a closeness that they had not heretofore anticipated.

A/N: Part of the problem is that Nik and I felt what Polly and Danny and Gina Lee felt in that we couldn’t get enough of the boy, and we ended up torturing him beyond all reason.

Velveteen Hutch was, so they tell me, well-received, and the original publisher of that fanfic, Linda Cabrillo, wanted a companion piece even before the ink was dry on the first piece. That was some 15 years ago, and since then, I’ve had it in the back of my head that I would oblige her.

Author’s Notes: This is a rather dark, longer story that came out of my desire to put the boys through hell. One day, I heard Jackson Browne’s song (from whence came the title for the story) on the radio. I floated home while listening the lyrics, which seemed to be a combination of love and hate, hope and despair, and the mixed-up emotions that two people in love might very easily share. The title, as well, seemed provocative, as blue and black are the color of bruises.
So I wrote the story, see. I put Hutch through hell and made Starsky watch. Then I made Hutch watch while Starsky went through hell. Then I made Hutch leave so Starsky could suffer some more trying to find him. Then I let them be together in the same room, but they had to reveal the most painful of secrets. Then I made them re-live the events of the original torture…and in the end, it was a pretty dark story.

Part of the fun is that the boys don’t understand just how close they’ve become over the years, and what exactly it is that they like about each other. Of course, there’s a happy ending, with no torture, at least not the regular kind, heh-heh-heh. The story was a joy to write, and I really got into the whole L.A. atmosphere, and the heat, and just how mean the boys could be to each other, even when they were trying like anything to get along.

In addition, they find the opportunity to discover a closeness that they had not heretofore anticipated.
