Title: Safe From Harm
Series: Aunt Sissy's Universe
Rating: G/Gen
Pairing: None
Word Count: 8,775
A/N: This is a second story in the Aunt Sissy Universe. It’s not a sequel to the first one, Out of Harm’s Way, but more a companion peice that takes place a few years later. I enjoyed the first one so much, I was loathe to let Aunt Sissy go by the wayside. ( Read more... )

That was awesome. Poor, poor Dean!

Thank you for liking it! And yeah, poor Dean. He's pretty much on his own, and far too young for being in charge of all that!

Oh, dear. This wee!Dean just rips the heart out.

First aid was not his strong suit, and Dad forever despaired of him. Jesus Christ, John! Can't you just stop it! (you'll make an Aunt Sissy into each one of us, yet!)

I love Dean in this, just can't get enough of the little boy solider. The bittersweetness of that last paragraph just kills me.

Love the riddles and Sammy's kind of creepy answers. I love Aunt Sissy's frown and how Dean can't bear it. Love this whole bit: Dean didn’t have the heart to tell Aunt Sissy that Dad normally didn’t let Sammy go in there on his own, there were all kinds of herbs that he might think were candy or something. Not until he was ten, Dad said. Sammy began digging through the first aid box, flashing Dean a look that said, check me out! Aunt Sissy defies Dad's absolute rule. Dean is awed by a power greater than Dad and Sammy revels in it! Very like them. :)

Oh, my dear, what lovely lovely comments! I'm so glad you liked this one, and yes, poor Dean. He tries SO hard, and at that age probably feels he'll never be as good as Dad expects. John can't stop, of course, cause he's DRIVEN. And obsessed. And angry. I just feel sorry for all the Winchesters, they've got such a messed up time of it.

I'll be honest, I cracked myself up about the whole riddles thing. I was looking them up, trying to find weird ones, AND the answers, which isn't as easy as I thought.

"Dean is awed by a power greater than Dad." I LOVE THAT!!! Because it's true. Poor Dad. : D
He didn't know what hit him when he made her up.

Would you believe that this one is my favorite of the three? I had such a good time with the idea of the troll and the riddles, and I scoured the internet for some interesting ones. : D

Ui, I like that! Poor kids, I'd really hate to be Aunt Sissy. Because not being able to change what is clearly NOT right in their world - would keep me awake at night for years.
Poor Dean - and even though he is a little troll-bitten, THAT sentence should have earned John a very 'accidental' use of iodine: "He disobeyed a direct order. He’s not supposed to think, he’s supposed to do as he’s told.”
Or at least she should have told Dean that not everything a Dad says is true. Bad John! Heel, sit, stay - bad, bad John!

John is such a complex character and we were given so little insight into what makes him tick. But I feel pretty sure he's got tunnel vision when it comes to his boys and that he'd be *exactly* like this about them following orders. And yes, Aunt Sissy has a hard time dealing with him! Her feelings reflect mine, and every thing I'd like to do for the wee boys. : D

Thank you for reading and for your lovely comment!

Ramona is such a fascinating and well crafted original character. I can really see the interactions here. How she feels and how Aunt Sissy makes each of the Winchester's feel. These are wonderful interludes and just what I'd been longing for.
