Velveteen Hutch and Aunt Sissy

Hi,
I read Velveteen Hutch a couple years ago when I stumbled into S&H fandom (from The Sentinel of all places) and it really struck a chord with me. I don't recall ever having read/been told the Velveteen Rabbit story so this was very new to me. I just wanted to leave you some love since I think 'Velveteen Hutch' may very well have been the first story I read in S&H.

Aunt Sissy:

What can be said about Aunt Sissy that hasn't already? I LOVE her and would love to read more about her considers bribing with chocolate chip cookes. She almost seems like a 'Tulpa' to me (exists because she was willed to) Like John put the idea into Dean and Sammy's heads of this person they can trust/count on (which aren't terms John Winchester bandies about willy-nilly) And when they needed her most (last day in Social Services before being separated into foster homes) poof there she was on the other end of a 'wrong number'. This (her being a Tulpa) is the only way I can make sense of the boys being able to get in touch with her through the operator no matter where they are in the country. I adore that she is 'no-nonsense' when dealing with John and can keep her wits about her when the shit hits the fan. On the other hand her being nothing more then a figment of the Wee!chesters imagination makes it (in my mind) impossible for them to go to her when they have 'down time' as she can only exist when they are in dire need of the idea of her.

In Conclusion: Thank you for creating an OFC that I can respect, who isn't a Mary Sue.

Oh, you read that one! I'm glad you liked it. I've gotten so very many positive response on that one, it amazes me. I wrote that story between two others that have never been as well received, and it was a very straight from the heart kind of story when I was telling it, laying it all out, trying to figure out how it was for Hutch. That it was one of your first stories? Amazing and very flattering!

I'm still loving the idea of Aunt Sissy being a Tulpa, and it's true in a way, because she does exist for them because they needed her. If they'd not needed her, they never would have found her. And they keep believing in her, so she keeps being there for them.

You are more than welcome for Aunt Sissy! I've had fun with her, and I like watching her take care of the wee boys. And John. : D
