Chapter 41
Draconeis made an attack, but this time on Benji. He gave him a good right to the jaw and an upper cut to the bottom of his jaw. This was followed by a front snap kick to the face and a punch to the stomach. Benji took all of the attacks and came back at Draconeis with a spinning back kick, a right leg round house kick, a front kick, and a punch to the face. Draconeis made one mistake when he took the punch: He left his left arm up out in the air. Benji took hold of it and threw him into Oakon who was starting to stand up. They collided and were both out cold. That was when they joined in Serena's fight.
Chapter 42
A sword flashed out at Serena and would have cut her arm off if Benji hadn't blocked it with his. "What in the world? How dare you?! How dare......" Fireockin shouted to Benji, but he just gave him a front kick to the stomach and an upper cut to the jaw. Fireockin went sprawling onto his back. Benji gave him a hard ax kick to the solar plexes, but Fireockin was able to roll out of the way. He came back at him with a front snap kick to the knee and a punch to the face. Benji blocked both of them and the Serena used her power on him!
"LIFE FORCE ATTACK!" She shouted as she drew her head band off. It quickly became a bright white line of energy. She threw it at Fireockin and Benji ducked just in time. Fireockin was hit full in the chest by the head band.
Chapter 43
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I'LL BE BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!" Fireockin shouted as his body crumbled to a pile of dust and disappeared.
"Yeah right! You're dead!" Serena said as she caught her head band. It had sailed back to her once it had hit Fireockin. She put it back on and then the group quickly joined in the fight with Flamenessa. Benji gave her a flying side kick and a punch to the ribs. She blocked both of them and then kicked him right in the head. He went sailing into a wall of cold iron. He hit the wall head first and dropped back to the ground out cold. That was when things began to turn in the favor of Evil.
Chapter 44
"Benji! NO! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!" Ray shouted to Flamenessa when she saw that Benji had been hurt. Benji's body lay on the ground face down, still and lifeless. Death stole over his body. Death. Doom. Chaos. Pain. Death. Death. Death......
"FIRE WAVE ATTACK! DIE YOU SCUM BAG!" Ray shouted as she let loose her power. She claped her hands together and closed them in a tight fist. The only fingers that she had not clenched around in a fist were her index fingers. Her thumbs she pressed tightly against her index fingers. A bright red and orange light shot out of her index fingers and turned in a clockwise direction toward Flamenessa. The fire that Ray had used on Flamenessa was that from the sun. Flame darted in her eyes. Anger flared up inside of her. She clenched her jaw tightly and bared her teeth. She was pissed off and everyone could litterally feel her anger swelling up inside of her as she shouted the name of her power. Flamenessa was hit full in the face by the flames that her anger had caused and she flew into a pole behind her at a good seventy miles an hour.
Chapter 45
"HYAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Lita shouted as she make a punch to Evil's face. He easily avoided the attack and blasted her with white lightning! "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Lita shouted as she was hit by the bolts of lightning.
"HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! ENJOY THE LITTLE COOK OUT?! I CERTAINLY DID!" Evil said and laughted even more wildly and viciously than before.
"You........shall.....pay for....for....." Lita tryed to say something that would help her win the fight, but she merely fell down to her knees where she was when the bolts of lightning had hit her. She struggled again to get up and continue to fight back with every ounce of her body's streangth and anger. She was hurt and hurt badly. She had been nearly killed just by one blast from that evil person in front of her, laughing and jeering and hoping she would fight some more. Would she have the courage to fight and try to kill the person that had hurt her or would she be killed?
Chapter 46
Lita finally managed to get up and continue to fight. She didn't want to give Evil the chance at attacking her again, so she used every one of her fighting skills in order to put Evil away for keeps. But nothing she threw at him seemed to give any effect as to whether or not she would be killed. "Take that!" Ray shouted as Flamenessa had tryed to get up. She now lay on the floor out cold and bleeding. Ray had kicked her hard in the face. She then joined Mina with her fight. After they had both knocked out Brayockin, they ran over to Lita and helped her with the fight. Evil took on a very pleased look. He thought that he could kill these weak humans and then his trouble would be nearly over. He raised his hands up into the air and they looked like the talons of an eagle. Light shone on his hands and it quickly conected into one bright line of light. He then threw his hands forward at the five girls and lightning shot out of his hands. They knew that their end had come. Benji had said that he had given them all power that he knew would protect them from this sort of thing, but did he give them enough power as to be able to fight back after being hit by electricity?
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" The group heard someone shout.
Chapter 47
Suddenly a dark figure stabbed Evil in the back. "What?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Evil shouted as the blade of a sword went into his back and out his chest. He slowly tipped forward. He fell to the floor and died ere he hit the floor. His body bounced once and then lay still. Serena and her friends stared in shock and horror at the body. Black blood spilled forth from it and stained the floor. A look of utter pain and horror and shock was borne upon the dead man's face. Pain and hate lay forever in his eyes. His hands frozen in time as claws. A snarl was upon his face and it was frozen that way. Serena and her friends tore their eyes away from the body and then looked up to the dark figure that was still standing before them. All they could see were the person's eyes. An evil look was in the person's eyes and they all knew that they were in big trouble.
"Who.......who are you?" Serena asked the person in front of them. The person just looked at them. It was an evil look. One of doom and death and pain and horror combined.
"Who are you?" Amy asked. She was standing to the left of Serena and once she had heard her voice she had found courage to speak again.
"Please, tell us who are or what you want." Ray said. She was standing behind Amy and Serena.
"Why are you just staring at us? All we want to know is who you are." Mina said. She was standing to right of Serena.
"Please........tell us.....who you.....are." Lita said somewhat weakly. She was still very tired and sore from her fight with Evil. The person then began to laugh. It was a cruel laugh and they knew it.
"I do not want anything from you. You are not the people I had to fight. NightHawk is.....dead as you would say it here on this horrible planet." The person said.
"Wait a second! I reconize your voice. You're one of the people that I fought with until Benji came to my aid. You're the one who attacked Benji the moment he came to my aid!" Amy said. Her eyes were large with terror and Fear himself had taken hold of her heart and made it shake with horror.
"That I am and I am gone! See ya all around soon!" Draconeis said. He tossed a small black ball at them and it blew open. A large dark smoke screen filled the room. When it had cleared, Evils' body was gone. So were the bodies of Fireockin, Lord Cyclone, Flamenessa, Brayockin, and Oakon.
"Hey, where'd they go?!" Amy asked the open air.
"That really doesn't matter. As long as they're gone we can get out of here!" Mina said.
"Good idea, but first we have to find Benji." Serena said. She walked a little bit away from the group and then looked around. She spotted him lying face down on the cold floor of the building. His body was still and lifeless. The group quickly ran over to him.
"Is he? Is he.....dead?" Amy asked Serena who was knealing beside him.
"No I don't think so. How do we take off the helmet. I need to check for a pulse." Serena answered.
"Here. Let me." Ray said. She quickly found the snaps under his lower jaw and gave them a good quick tug. They came undone and Serena slowly and carefully removed the helmet. She pressed her index and middle fingers against the side of his neck and then looked up to Amy and her friends.
"Well?" Mina asked.
"He has a heartbeat, but I'm afraid to move him any more than we did when I took his helmet off. His neck might be broken." Serena said.
"Well if we can't move him more than we already have, what are we going to do?" Ray asked.
"There's only one thing that we can do. I'll have to use the power of the Life Force Attack. Hopefully it will revive Benji. If not, I think he'll want us to carry on the fight between good and evil." Serena said.
"It's worth a try." Lita said.
"Alright, I'll use it. Stand back. LIFE FORCE ATTACK!" Serena shouted. Her head band flew off her brow and started to circle Benji. Suddenly it stopped a few inches from his head. It began to flicker with a bright red light and then it became a line of red light. He slowly opened his eyes. Then the head band fell to the ground with a great clatter next to him. He strugled to get up, but was very weak. Lita and Ray helped him stand up. When he had found his balance again, they let go of him and he stood surrounded by his friends. Smiles of joy and happiness were upon their faces and in their eyes. He bent down and picked up the golden head band and gave it to Serena.
"I think this belongs to you." He said.
"Are you okay? I mean nothing's broken right?" Ray asked him. He looked at her and said:
"Yeah, I'm alright. Just a little tired, that's all."
"Listen, can we get out of here?" Mina asked.
"By all means. Let's go. We have some unfinished work." Benji said.
"What are you saying?" Lita asked him. He turned toward the exit.
"Evil and his followers are still alive. I can feel it. In order for Earth to be clensed of this evil, we have to go to the source of the evil. We must hold our last fight with them in the Castle Dragonsfire." Benji said.
"Wait.....Evil or whatever his name is had been killed by one of his own people. Draconeis had stabbed him in the back when he was about to kill us. So why do we need to fight them again?" Serena asked Benji.
"Evil isn't dead. That was only a fake move. Draconeis saved your lives so that way he and his friends could kill you at Dragonsfire. Evil was just a ghost. That wasn't the real person. The real Evil is still at Dragonsfire waiting for us." Benji said.
"Then why are we going to walk right into his trap?" Lita asked.
"What we're going to do is stay about a mile away from the castle, but we can't fight in a building. We'll need open space in order to combine our powers. Only then will we be able to fight Evil and win. Besides if I can get Evil, himself, outside of the castle, he'll be vulerable to attack. He can't use his magic outside of the castle gates any more. He's become too evil. His clone can. That was who he sent after us. That Evil was a clone." Benji said. "Are you ready?" He said to them all. They nodded and then they left the building quickly.
Chapter 48
Once outside of the building, they turned toward the direction that the Twin Towers lay. Slowly they began their walk toward them. They soon entered more of the city and then they noitced that the whole place was empty. Bare. Bone dry. Dry as dust in a desert. Lifeless. Dead. The whole city and probably the entire world was baren of people. Benji looked around. He could feel the tension in each person and knew that if anything were to come at them now, they might all be killed because of their feelings of fright. Horror. Panic. Dismay. Terror. Doom. Death. All of these they each felt with so much feeling that they knew that each feeling had become a person and was holding their souls and heart in their grasp.
Benji noticed that the sun was setting in the sky. It was a large orange ball of flame and it burned like a torch in the night air and sky. The clouds that were swiftly gathering, were lit up with bright pink and red. "What a beautiful sun set!" Lita said. She had stopped for a moment in order to rest. She looked out over the city and the sun shone brightly in her eyes. She then resumed her walk with the others and soon caught up to them. Soon they were bathed in a blanket of darkness. It quickly became icy cold. Death was playing with them and they all could feel his hand on their hearts. As the tempature dropped, so did their hopes of getting any where in the battle. Benji was the only one that still thought that they could make it through the end and that none would be killed. He stopped so suddenly that Serena and Amy bumped into him.
"Hey! What's with the sudden stop?" Serena asked him through chattering teeth.
"We shall go no further tonight. Come and follow me." Benji said. The group turned to the right and were soon standing in front of an old hotel. It was from the late eighteen hundreds. Benji pulled open the door and everyone walked inside. They looked around and saw no one at the front desk. Serena then walked up to the desk and took hold a black pen. She then signed their names into an old name book and then took the remaining keys on the rack. Soon everyone had a room to sleep in and they quickly fell into troubled dreams. It was nearly four in the morning when Wolf awoke.
Chapter 49
"Now what?" Wolf thought. He suddenly felt his fur stand on end and he jumped to his feet. He could smell someone coming. He let loose a growl that quickly awoke Benji. He sat up in his bed and stared into the darkness.
"What is it, old friend?" Benji asked Wolf.
"Danger.....is coming. I can't tell whether it's coming for us or one of your friends." Wolf said. Suddenly they heard a scream.
"HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!" The voice shouted into the empty halls.
"What the heck?! That came from Sireena's room!" Benji said and literally jumped out of his bed. He ran to the door and was about to open it when he stopped. Someone was already in his room.
Chapter 50
Benji turned around and then saw a silhouette of a human in front of the large plate glass window that he could look out of and see well over half the city. The full moon cast an eerie shadow of the person in front of him onto him. "Who are you and what do you want?" Benji said in a voice that demanded an answer.
"Surely you'd reconize me in your sleep, Benji of the NightHawk!" The person said. Benji remained unfazed by the voice. He knew who it was. He knew that it was Evil himself.
"So what do you want?!" Benji shouted at Evil. A deadly smile appeared upon Evil face.
"You should go and help your friends. I won't hurt you this time, but I will hurt your friends! Farewell!" Evil said and was gone. Instantly Benji put on his protectionary armor. He tore out of his room so fast he nearly ran right into Amy!
"Benji! Are you alright?" She asked him.
"I'm fine! What happened? I heard someone scream." Benji said.
"Benji, come here quickly!" They heard Serena shout. She was standing outside of her hotel room door, a look of utter fear and shock on her face.
"What is it?" Benji asked her. Serena stood paralized with fear when he got to her.
"Someone was inside of my room. Someone grabbed me and stuffed this into my hand and then left." Serena said once she was able to catch her breath. She handed Benji a small scroll. Tied around it, so as to keep it shut, was a black and white string. The colors of his Armor. On the scroll was the symbol of his Armor.
"Great! A lunatic comes barging in here and tries to hurt one of us and then gives you a message for Benji and then what does that person do?! Bales out right after the message has been delivered! What's next? A couple of snakes singing Joy to the World?!" Ray shouted with great hate in her voice.
"Benji, is something wrong?" Amy asked him. She had been watching him since Serena had given him the scroll. His jaw was locked in a grim expression. Nothing shone in his eyes. They were pale and bound tight to the scroll. After a while Benji rolled the scroll up and retied it. He looked up to Amy and said:
"Evil is gong to pay with his life!" Benji said to himself. He then realized that Amy and his friend were looking at him. "There's nothing wrong. Come on. We had better leave before anything else happens tonight." He said. The others looked at him strangely. They could see that something was terribly wrong and yet they knew that whatever it was, Benji would be able to handle it.......or would he?
Chapter 51
"Will Benji be able to fight Evil and win the war of the century? Or will Evil and his minions kill him and us? I hope that he will be able to teach them a lesson or two. And what was on the scroll? He didn't even seem to hear me when I asked him if anything was wrong." Amy thought. They had made their way outside of the building and were now standing a few feet from the door. They then began to walk toward the Castle Dragonsfire. Soon the final fight would begin and they were all scared to death of what awaited them at the gates of the castle.
"Benji! I need to talk to you!" Ray said. She quickly caught up to him for he was in the lead and she had been walking in the back of the line. Once she did catch up to him, she said:
"Listen I know that you may not want us to know what the heck was on that scroll, but do you think you could at least tell us what we're going up against?" Benji slowed down and stopped walking. He stared at Ray for minute and then spoke in a voice that sounded like Death's voice.
"The message was for all of us, even though it was addresed to me. It said that if we dared to come to Dragonsfire Castle then we will just be taking an inventation from Death. I'm worried that we won't make it past the first trap that Evil has set for us. If we all die in there, then Evil will claim this world and all others." Benji said.
"Holy cow! That really must have been some message to get you so scared!" Ray said.
"Yes. We must keep moving." Benji said and began walking again. They soon stood in front of the castle gates.
Chapter 52
"I need you guys to hide somewhere very close to the castle." Benji said. "You'll be safer in hinding than in fighting."
"Why do we have to hide?" Lita asked him.
"Because Evil and I are going to be fighting. I can handle anything that he throws at me. You guys aren't that strong yet and I want to surprize him by bringing you guys into the fight the second it seems to be going in his favor." Benji said.
"Good idea." Amy said. "The moment we show up, Evil won't know what hit him and we'd be able to win the fight."
"That's what I had in mind." Benji said. The rest of the group quickly ran into a building across the street from the castle. Benji then cupped his hands to his mouth and shouted: "HEY, EVIL! I GOT YOUR BLOODY MESSAGE, SO COME ON OUT! IF YOU WANT A FIGHT I'LL GIVE YOU ONE, BUT IT'LL BE THE WAY WE DO IT ON EARTH! NO MAGIC! WHAT'S THE MATTER? ARE YOU CHICHKEN?! I SAID GET YOU STINKING BUTT OUT HERE! COME ON! GET OUT HERE! DON'T FORCE ME TO COME IN THERE AFTER YOU!" Benji waited for a few seconds for a reply. Suddenly the ground began to shake beneath his feet. Benji could hardly stand. Then as suddenly as the shaking began, it stopped. Laughter followed.
"HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! SO YOU WANT ME TO FIGHT YOU EH?" Benji heard EVIL call down to him from somewhere inside the castle.
"YOU OBVIOUSLY HEARD ME! GET OUT HERE! I WANT TO FIGHT YOU FACE TO UGLY FACE, YOU JACK-ASS!" Benji called back.
"YOU KNOW, YOUR MOUTH WILL BRING YOU A LOT OF TROUBLE!" Evil called back. Benji knew that his plan wasn't working so he decided to go the next step to getting Evil mad enough to come after him himself. He had to make him think he was only second best in the art of white and black magic.
"GO SUCK AN EGG! I HEAR YOU'RE SO TERRIBLE IN MAGIC YOU HAD HELP GETTING THIS UGLY PILE OF ROCKS TO MY HOME WORLD! YOU SUCK IN MAGIC! I KNOW OF SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT ARE TWICE AS GOOD AS YOU IN THE ART OF BLACK MAGIC! I KNOW OF ONE PERSON WHO IS SO GOOD IN THE ART OF BLACK MAGIC THAT HE CAN FIGHT MY FRIEND, SAPPHIRE THE DRAGON, WITH BOTH OF HIS HANDS BEHIND HIS BACK, HIS MOUTH MAGICALLY SEALED TIGHT, WEARING A BLIND FOLD, AND STANDING ON ONE LEG!" Benji shouted back up to Evil. He heard a loud scream of hate and menace.
"I'LL BURY YOU ALIVE, NIGHTHAWK!" Evil shouted and a black lightning bolt charged down at him.
Chapter 53
The lightning bolt sped toward Benji. He merely stood where he was. He wanted Evil to think that he could be easily killed, though he knew that Evil would fire upon him at least three times. At the last second, before the bolt of death hit him, he jumped to the right. The bolt hit the street and huge pieces of the street blew up into the air. Benji lay on the ground. His face was slightly covered with a thin layer of dust and a few pieces of gravel and tar lay upon his body. He rose, after the dust had cleared, and stood up. He wiped off the dust on his clothing and faced the gates again. "I'M NOT DEAD, EVIL! I THOUGHT YOU COULD KILL A FLY IN LESS THAN A SECOND WITH THAT SPELL! I SEE NOW I WAS WRONG! LIKE I SAID BEFORE: YOU SUCK!" Another bolt of lightning, this time right at his head. He did a back flip and the bolt hit the street ten inches from his right foot. He landed on the ground and a few feet from the hole that it had made and stared down at it. It was at least ten feet long and twenty feet wide.
Benji looked up at the gates and a bright red light flshed in his eyes. He knew that he'd have to try again to get Evil outside of his throne room and onto the streets. "EVIL! EVIL, I'VE GOT NEWS FOR YOU! YOU BLEW IT! YOU CAN'T HIT THE BROAD SIDE OF A FLY'S WING EVEN IN THE LIGHT OF DAY! YOU SUCK! DO YOU HEAR ME UP THERE OR DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY IT TO YOUR FACE? YOU SUCK!" Benji shouted up to Evil. This time Evil got pissed. He threw not one, not two, not even four, but twelve lightning bolts at Benji. Benji was able to dodge all of them save the last one.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Benji shouted as he flew into the air. The bolt of lightning had hit him in the chest. He landed fifty feet from the castle, smoke rising from his body. He lay there still and lifeless. Dead. Stone cold. Lifeless. Gone. Deceased. Expired. Departed.
Chapter 54
Slowly Benji raised his eye lids. He slowly sat up and then stood. His body was covered in a thick layer of dust and debris. He shook it off and then walked back over to the gates of Dragonsfire. "THREE TIMES YOU TRYED TO KILL ME AND YET YOU FAILED AT EACH! SOME WIZZARD YOU ARE!" Benji called out to Evil. He knew that these words would bring him outside of the castle and he was right. Evil suddenly appeared a few feet to his right. Benji turned to him with a grim look upon his face.
"So you think I cannot kill you? I'll show you the sad mistake you made! I'll kill you with your friend's powers! WINDS OF CHOAS!" Evil said and Benji suddenly saw his brother's Armor and heard his voice. The Armor was standing in a combat stance above Evils' head, weapons drawn. A beam of dark blue lightning shot towards Benji!
Chapter 55
"WHAT?! Nooooooooo! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHG!" He shouted as the lightning picked him up off his feet and threw him into a building sixty feet away! Benji lay on his face half dead. He slowly rose to his feet and then put his Armor on.
"ARMOR OF NIGHTHAWK! EVIL YOU SHALL DIE HERE AND NOW! HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Benji shouted as he drew his swords and leapt at his old friend who was now his most hated enemy. He came down at Evil with a brillant slash to the top of the head and front kick to the stomach. The slash missed by a mile, but the kick hit pay dirt! Evil held his stomach in pain but came back at Benji with a powerful upper cut to the jaw. Benji took it and then kicked him in the face.
This was followed up by a jab to the nose, a right to the jaw, another kick to the solar plexes and a spinning back kick to the right knee. Evil was on the ground now. He was knealing on his knees, his right knee broken. Benji was about to knock him out and then kill him, when he struck back with his powerful White Lightning Attack!
Chapter 56
He raised his hand up in a claw-like look and white circles sprang to life on each of his fingers. Benji saw the attack and stopped his. He backed up and prayed that it wouldn't come, that Evil would not be able to use his magic outside of the castle more than once. Suddenly the white circles frizzled and disapeared! Evil looked at his right hand, which was the one he had risen to kill Benji with, a look of utter confusion and hate and horror spead across his face. "No. NO! This cannot be happening! I am the master of Black Magic! Nothing is stronger than me! My powers can't be limited to that pile of rock!" Evil shouted. He looked over to Benji and saw that a gleeful smile was on his face and in his eyes. Benji turned towards the building that his friends had gone into and then called them to him.
Chapter 57
Something was wrong. Benji could sence it. Suddenly he felt a great pain in his back. It was the blade of a knife.
"What the heck?!" Benji said. He turned around to look right into the glaring eyes of Brayockin. He knew that the knife had pierced his back and he fell to the ground. Brayockin stooped down and took out the Blade. He looked over at Evil, who was standing and smiling.
"I must admit that Flamenessa's idea, for once, worked. Nice of you to give to me the Blade of Death. NightHawk is dead." Brayockin said to Evil Evil nodded to him. That was when Serena and her friends barged out of the building and each of them did an amazing flying side kick. Brayockin was hit full in the face by Amy's foot. Draconeis was hit by Serena's flying side kick, Oakon was hit by Ray's, Lita was able to hit Flamenessa, and Mina slugged Lord Cyclone in the face with her flying side kick. They all flew into the street a few feet from where each had been standing. Evil looked down at Benji with a deep hatred in his eyes. Benji was still alive, barely. He stood up and tossed his left-hand sword to Amy and she caught it. Brayockin drew his swords and attacked with cruel streangth. Amy was able to fight back with firece power in her movements and Brayockin was litterally at her mercy. Benji then pointed his blade at Evils' neck and everything seemed to take forever. Evil pulled a sword from somewhere under his left sleeve and slashed at him with it.
He dodged the attack and kicked Evil in the face. Evil blocked the attack and hit Benji twice in the face and once in the stomach. "Die NightHawk and may you never walk Earth or Zadonkon again! May you be condemed to a spirit life!" Evil said. He slashed at his neck, but Benji blocked the attack with his sword. He countered and countered and countered again. All three slashes hit Evil hard in the arms and legs. Then Evil let loose his White Lightning. Eight bolts of the deadly lightning seared Benji with pain. He screamed fromt he pain and hit the street hard. Draconeis drew his swords and attacked Serena. She dodged every one of his attacks and kicked him in the groin and punched him in the face. He lay on the ground in pain and unconscious. Blood poured out of his mouth and nose. His right temple had a large purple bruise. His left eye was badly bleeding and was also purple.
Chapter 58
"If you are going to kill me, then you should do it before you are killed!" Evil said sarcastically. He smiled a mean and horried smile of victory over the Light of Good and Peace. If he were to kill Benji of the Armor of NightHawk and then his friends, there would be only Darkness left for the world. The Ancient One wouldn't be able to help them, for by the time that he would so, he would be dead. Evil had won.
"I'll die on my feet! Go on and kill me, you still have the power of love to deal with. You can't kill it and you know it all too well!" Benji said.
"How much do you want to bet? I'll kill you and then I'll kill these weakling human people that you have brought into our fight!" Evil said. He readied his White Lightning once again. Another blast from that spell and Benji might die!
"Virtue, Life, Justice, Wisdom, and Trust. These are the five keys of the Warriors of Light! These are the keys to the Light itself! That's what being a Light Warrior means, something that you wouldn't understand! You would never understand what it means to have the Light of Good shinning within you! No, not with your black heart so twisted and evil with death. Evil, you shall die before I do and I will make sure of that!" Benji said. He picked up his sword, which had fallen from his hand and then held it within the palm of his hand. He looked at the chipped blade. The light of the setting sun glared upon it and it shinned within his eyes, a brightness that was filled with the faces of all of his friends; dead and alive. He had their powers within and he knew it well. He then dropped the sword again and rasied his hands above him. He called upon the White Armor of Light.
"ARMOR OF LIGHT!" Benji screamed the words so loudly that they could be heard all over the city of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Instantly the Armor of White Light was upon his shoulder and his body. His eyes flashed with light and circles of white light twisted and turned within the irises of his eyes. Evil had met his match and it was time for the final confrontation. It was time that Evil left the world as we know it now. Benji drew the Swords of Light and made them the staff weapon that he had used countless times before. It was time for the original Light Warriors to rest and stop the quest of the Light and let he and his friend take over. It was time to free them and let them walk in peace. But would he be able to do it? Would Benji had enough life within his body to bear the Armor, withstand its power, and kill the one man that he has sought to finish and destroy for two long and pain-filled years? Would he live and do what he had come all this way to do? Would he be able to slay Evil and make sure that the Light Warriors of new would live to tell the tale of the Light Warriors of old? Would he die or would he live? He brought the Swords bear upon Evil's neck. His eyes were calm and they showed nothing save peace of mind. His friends watched the terrible battle rage onward and onward. Evil slashed at him with crule, wicked strikes and Benji blocked them all with the Sword Staff. He friends shouted to him to finish Evil, but he barely heard them.
"Come on Benji, finish him!" Serena called.
"Benji, do it!" Amy called.
"You can do it, Benji! I believe in you and your power! You can do it! Please, Benji, don't let him kill you! I believe in you!" Ray called out to him.
"Kill me and your troubles shall be over with." Evil suddenly said to Benji. "Go on, NightHawk! I am finished and want you to kill me!" Benji grabbed him and picked him six inches off the ground.
"If I kill you, you'll just take on another form! You were never the wizard Moeton, you were really Evil all along! Go back to the abyss that you once lived in and may you never return!" Benji shouted to Evil. He dropped him and he hit the ground with a thud. Benji raised his swords and brought them to bear once more on Evils' neck. He then spun the weapon around his head and called upon his power, but he didn't say the words in time. Evil had tricked him when he pretended to not be able to use his deadly magic! A lightning bolt of black soared through the air and bore down upon NightHawk!
Chapter 59
"WHAT THE HECK?! BENJI, WATCH OUT!" Ray shouted. She had seen the seceret attack made by Evil and then saw the bolt of lightning hit Benji in the chest. Benji's look turned to one of complete surprize and pain.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He shouted as he flew backwards. He flew into the side of the castle and lay on the ground as if he were dead. Ray ran to his aid.
"Benji, can you hear me?!" She called to him. He made no answer. Ray tryed again and again no answer came. Once more and once more no answer came to her. She looked up to Evil, who was now standing and gloating at her. Serena and the rest of her friends finally managed to take out the Evil Warlords and their friends. They joined Ray beside Benji's still and lifeless body.
"Is he.......is he.........dead?" Serena asked Ray. Ray merely looked at her with pleading eyes that said she wanted to say no, but she could not hide the truth from her friends. She slowly nodded her head.
"Noooooo. Oh, God no! He can't be dead! Not now! Not after all that he's fought for!" Amy said. She had raised her left hand up to her mouth as if to stop the words that came out.
"EVIL! HEAR ME! YOU SHALL PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!" Ray shouted at the top of her lungs. She left her friends and stood up. Tears of pain and hate toward Benji's killer flared in her eyes. Evil merely stood where he was and looked at her. A gleeful smile was upon his face. His eyes sparkled in the setting sun.
"Come on little lady! I'll take you on and then I'll kill you!" Evil said to Ray. His face was full of glee at the death of NightHawk.
"FIRE WAVE ATTACK! HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Ray shouted as her power sprang to life. The flames of her anger and despair mixed and became a raging inferno! Ray clasped her hands together and pointed her thumbs straight upwards into the air. Her index fingers pointed to Evil. She spun in a three hundred and sixty degree circle and then the flames of her anger and despair flew out of her index fingers towards Evil, turning in a clockwise direction. He stood where he was for he had no place to go and he would not run from a fight. The flames hit him and he flew backwards. He landed on the ground about sixty feet from where he had been a half second ago. Ray jumped into the air and said the name of her power again as she came charging down upon Evil. The flames again sprang to life and again Evil took them. He got up and attacked her with a lightning bolt and she was hit full in the chest and flew right into the same place that Benji had landed. She fell to the earth not too far from his body. Smoke and dust rose from her body. Blood trickled slowly down the corner of her lower lip.
"FIRE! NOOOOOO! YOU MONSTER!" Serena shouted as she attacked Evil. She also ended up where Ray was. Soon everyone was in the same area. Then they slowly climbed to their feet and then hudled in a circle.
"So what are we going to do about this guy?" Amy said. She was holding her left arm at the middle of her bicep, where she had been hit by Evil's attack.
"I say we rush him again!" Lita said. She had a black eye from her fight with him. "I don't think he can take all of us at once."
"How? You saw what he did to each of us and to Benji! What shall we do? Leave and let him have this world?" Ray said. Her left arm was wrapped around her ribs.
"I really don't know of what we should do about him, but I won't stop fighting until we've killed him or until he's killed us." Mina said. She held her right arm like Amy was doing to her left arm.
"I have an idea." Serena said. She was craddling her left arm in her right and holding both tightly against her stomach.
"What?" The four other girls said together.
"Well, what if we combined our powers? That should give us enough energy to kill this monster." Serena said. It was worth a try. If they failed to kill Evil on this next attack, then they didn't even want to think about what awaited them. Serena knelt down beside Benji's body and looked into his face. Eventhough there was dryed blood coming out of his nose and right corner of his mouth, she could still tell that he was barely alive.
"Life force attack!" Serena said in his ear and she touched his forehead with her right hand. Slowly his eyes opened. "Guys! I think I just brought Benji back to life!" She called to her friends. They swiftly knealt down to him and then they saw that he was struggling to remain alive. They helped him stand up and then they made their move.
"Evil, you have still failed to kill me. Though, I must admit, you did come close. There's just one problem with coming close to killing me. If you don't do it within one strike, you had better start running because I will kill you." Benji said with as much streangth as he could. He barely had enough to draw his swords. Evil looked at him in amazement and then laughed. He knew that he could easily kill them all. "Get ready for the final fight!" Benji said. He now stood with his swords drawn and clashed the ends of them together. He jumped into the air and shouted the name of his power.
"RAGE OF LIGHT!" Benji shouted.
"LIFE FORCE ATTACK!" Serena shouted and her power joined with Benji's. Her head band flew from her right hand and was hit by the Flames of Light from the Armor of Lights' Swords of Light.
"ICE WINDS BLAST!" Amy shouted. Her power joined that of Lifes' and NightHawks'. She placed her hands, palms facing each other, in front of her chest and a bubble of ice wind appeared between them. Then she brought her hands downwards to her right hip, her left arm going across her stomach, her right hand placed upon her hip and the bubble grew in power. She pivited in a three hundred and sixty degree circle once on her right foot and then brought her hands back up to her chest, this time, though, she had crossed her arms at the wrists, right hand closest to her chest, in an "X" formation. She then threw her arms outward, palms facing Evil and the bubble of ice wind flew from her arms and joined with the other powers. The bubble of ice wind soared over to the head band of Serenas' power and then covered it in ice.
"FIRE WAVE ATTACK!" Ray yelled at the top of her lungs. Her power did the same thing that the rest were doing: it joined with them and made them all stronger. The flames from her power covered Serenas' head band and the ice under it glowed with a bright red light.
"VENUS CRESENT ATTACK!" Mina yelled. Her power also did the same. Her power came out of her head band. It was an orange streak of light that had come out from the jewle in her head band. Her bright blue eyes shone with peace. There was nothing save for the feeling of peave that they all felt. It soared over to the head band and then covered it in a thin orange light that was barely visible from the light of Rays' power.
"JUPITER THUNDER BOLT CRASH!" Lita shouted as her power shot forward and joined in the line of powers. Her power came out of her green jewle in her golden head band. It was dark green beam of light that would spin and twist in a counter-clockwise direction. The twisting light beam of energy and power quickly found Serenas' head band and then coered it in a bright green light. Even though the head band would be what would hit Evil, beams of light still flowed from the hands or head bands or swords of people who had called upon their powers. Red, blue, black, green, orange, and white were the colors of the beam of light that shot out toward Evil. He combated the attack with his black lightning attack. The two powers collided and the side of Light seemed to be loosing for a moment, but then it seemed to be winning. It pushed back the power of Evil's attack and then hit him in the chest.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Evil shouted with all of his might and power he could summon within his body. His body cracked and he fell to the ground as a pile of dust. The castle quickly had a prizum of white light spread over it and it disappeared. The damage to the city was immence, but repairable. That was when Benji fell to the ground.
"Benji! What is it?!" His friends shouted together. They crowded around him. He lay on his back facing each of them, his eyes half closed in a daze. He was still and cold. He didn't move, didn't speak. All could feel some ghost hovering over Benji, gloating and laughing and hoping that the end would come in pain and misery. All could feel the Shadow of Death approaching their friend. Benji shivered. He knew that his time had come. His time upon the real world was slowly ending and he knew he would leave it in pain and misery.
"Benji, can hear or see us?" Serena asked him. Benji remained in his daze. He could barely move and he had no strength left. He was dying and he could not fight the Ghost of Death. Soon, he knew, that he would appear in front of him and he would go with the Ghost and be gone from his friends forever.
"Come on, Benji, hang in there! Everything should be alright now. We stopped Evil's plans to conquer this world and we could never have done it without you." Amy said. Benji turned to her and said in a low, cracking whisper:
"I........am.........sorry. AAAAAH. I am....dying. I need you and.....your....your.....friends......to do.......something.....for me. AAAAAH." Benji's eyes were clouded and he could barely see anything.
"What do you want us to do?" Ray asked him. She had taken hold of his right hand to let him know that they were still with him for he could not see anyone now, but only hear them. Tears shone in five pairs of eyes. At this moment Lita quickly left them all for a second and called the paramedics. They had said that they would get there as soon as possible, but she knew that they would never make it in time. They all knew that they would not be able to save Benji even if they did use their magical powers that he had given them. He was too far gone.
".....I.........I.....need you......to....carry.....on the...the...fight...with...Evil. Please do.....that for me. AAAAAAAH." Benji managed to say through gritted teeth.
"What do you meen: "To carry on the fight with Evil?" Mina asked him. "None of us understand."
"I.....mean.....that.....should.....Evil ever....ever....rear his ugly......head at...at you guys......again, I....want you guys to fight......him....Remember what...you have....learned. Combine....powers......when.....most.....needed.....
You......are now......Warriors of......Light." Benji said.
"Please don't die...........you have so much to teach us. Please hang in there. I can hear sirens on the way. Lita must have gone to call the paramedics. Don't try to talk any more. You'll be alright. You'll be alright." Serena said. A tear trickled down her right cheek.
"They.....won't make......it.....in.....time.....I......too.....far.....gone. J...j...just.....remember....what...you learned.....I will....always....be with...you. You...all will.....be able.....to s....s....see....me. Farewell.....my.....friends." Benji said.
"Come on Benji, hang in there!" Lita said. She had rejoined the group and saw that their friend was near death already. She knew, as well as the others, that he would die and not make it to the hospitle.
"Remeber one other thing for me." Benji said.
"What?" Ray asked him.
"These words. Hopefully they'll give you comfort......for when....I leave you all." Benji said. He gathered all of his remaining strength and then began to softly sing a song.
Roads go ever ever on to the lands beyond the sea. Leaving havens grey with rain. Now that years have slipped away, leaving friends with gentle pain, as they start another day. Roads I've travled, I must leave for I have turned the final bend. Weep not empty tears, but grieve as the road comes to an end. It's so easy not to try. Let the world go drifting by. Benjis' eyes closed forever. It was at this moment that Mina finished the song for their friend, but she did it not as farewell gift to him, she did it because he was their friend. As she sang, Ray slowly joined her in the singing and then every one of them were singing the song with pain in their hearts and tears running wildly down their cheeks. They had never heard the song before, but it was as if they had known it all their lives.

At the last word, Ray burried her head in her hands. She looked away from her friends' lifeless body. Though Benji had asked them in his song not to weep empty tears, she did so any way. They were not empy to her. To her they were filled with her feeling of loss; her feeling of love. She had secretly cared about Benji a lot and she had never told him. She then turned back around and knealt down beside her friend. She took hold of his right hand and held it firmly in her own. They were now the Light Warriors. Benji had also warned them that Evil might return.....but should he do so, would their fate be that of the original Light Warriors? Or, worse yet, would their fate by that of the current, but now dead, Light Warriors? She had no way of knowing. She then bent down to his ear and softly whispered the words: "I love you, Benji."
"Nooooooo. He can't be dead. Not now. Not when he has so much to teach us." Lita said. She knealt down onto her right knee, left leg before her, bent at the knee. She placed her right hand upon her heart. "I pledge my life to the fighting of Evil and his minions. Never will I let them walk this planet! Never will I let them take another soul like they have done to NightHawk. Until I die, either in battle or age, I will fight them all to my last breath of air and I will not rest until I have do so. I will not rest until Evil has been destroyed for keeps!" She said with a terrible hatred in her eyes and voice. She turned away from the horrible picture that was so greatly painted before their eyes. Tears rolled down everyone's cheeks. Ray's jaw was tense and tight. Her eyes burned with a fire the like of which she had never felt before. She looked up and saw the Ghost of Death walking toward them. She still held Benji's right hand and this she gripped harder. She knew that Benji would be forever gone to them if Death took his soul.
"Please don't take him. I beg of you, please!" Ray said in a whisper. Her eyes shook and and her heart cryed out as she saw that the Ghost didn't care about what might happen to them all if he took their friend away. He continued to walk toward them and then he stopped and looked at the five people that stared at him with huge eyes filled with pain and saddness. He walked on a bit further toward them all.
"Stop! Don't take our friend! Please!" Lita shouted to the Ghost. He did stop, but he didn't turn around and leave.
"Go back to where you came from! Please don't hurt our friend!" Mina shouted. She was crying heavily, but she was still able to yell at the Ghost. She thought that if they could keep him away from their friend, he might awake up and this terrible picture would end and they would all awake in their own homes knowing that it was just a nightmare. The Ghost didn't turn and leave them nor did it continue to walk toward them. Instead it raised its hands up to its hood and pulled it back. Under the hood was skull. It had a crack that spread in a forked line from the upper left portion of the skull to the left eye.
The Ghost walked toward them some more. It was now less than twenty feet from Benji's body. "If you don't stop, I will fight you. I'll give you one last chance: go back to where you came from and you may live another day." Serena said.
"Please! Can't you see that this person lying in the gravle of the battle that many fought has won the war against your brother?! You can't take him away from us! We need him. Please don't come any further toward him or we shall all fight you to our deaths." Amy said. She stood up and took hold of Benji's swords. She unclasped them and then gave one to Lita. She kept the other and held it in front of her, ready to fight back with all of her power that she had left. The Ghost stayed where it was and didn't move. After a few seconds, it spoke to them!
"You are all very brave people and so was Benji of the NightHawk Armor. You all fought hard and to live, Benji had given up his life to save you and his world from the hands of my brother, Evil. Now that he is dead, I have to bring him to the Land of the Dead. So if you don't mind, I will do that now."
"Forget it! I won't let you get any closer to him!" Lita shouted and stabbed the Ghost her sword. The blade pierced the Ghosts' sternum and then went all the way through its back. Lita brought the sword out again, but saw that there was no blood on the blade. She stared in horror as the Ghost continued to walk toward Benji's still and lifeless body. Now the Ghost was standing just a few inches away from his body when Lita tryed to cut its head off. She swept the swords' blade through the skull's neck and then pulled it back so that it would not have a chance to get the sword. Nothing happened to the Ghost. It didn't fall to the ground and die nor did it take Benji's soul yet. It turned to face Lita and her friends.
"Why are you working so hard to stop me from taking this boy's soul and bringing him to the Land of the Dead where he now belongs?" It asked her. Lita felt a tear roll down her cheek.
"Because........he is our friend and friends don't abandone each other. I know that may be something which you can't understand, because all you do is take the souls of people and don't even care about what the friends of the deceased person says to you! You don't even care about I'm talking about, do you?!" Lita said to the Ghost and stared at it with a fire burning in her eyes.
"I see that you and your friends were really close friends of Benji's. I can see that you will stop at nothing to stop me from taking him away. I will not take him away from you and your friends. I will let him decied if he wants to go with me or not. If he does, then you must let me take him away, if he wants to stay upon this planet, then I will let him live in peace as a ghost upon this world." The Ghost of Death said.
"Thank you. Thank you so much." Lita said to the Ghost.
"Wait! How are you going to talk to Benji if he's dead? We should also be able to hear what his choice is and what his real choice is, not what you want." Serena said.
"I will speak with his spirit. You will be able to hear everything that we say for I cannot lie to you. If I did, I'd become just like my evil brother. Shall we begin?" The Ghost said. Serena and her friends nodded to him and he touched Benji's forehead with his right hand. Benji's spirit came out his body and floated over to his friends. His body waved in the light breeze.
"Benji, I have to ask something of you. Your friends don't want me to take you to the Land of the Dead where you belong. You have a choice: To come with me to the Land of the Dead or to stay here with your friends as a ghost. What is your choice?" The Ghost of Death said. Benji didn't answer but looked at the being in front of him and then to his friends and then back to the being.
"I choose to stay with my friends." Benji's spirit said. "I will not go with you to the Land of the Dead."
"Very well. I hope that you enjoy your choice. Farewell NightHawk. Remember that you shall always have a way into the Land of the Dead, all you need do is ask me to show you the way." The Ghost said to Benji.
"Wait. If I did go there to speak with other spirits, will I be able to get back?" Benji asked the Ghost.
"Oh, yes. Once you have stayed on this planet for a few days you will always be able to get back to your resting area." The Ghost said. "Good bye for now." He disappeared and Benji turned toward his friends. He smiled at them and then flew off into the night. The paramedics arrived at the place where his body lay. They quickly knew that he was dead and they took his body to a graveyard. They placed him under an old willow tree. Benji's spirit watched the whole thing. From the each shovle full of dirt until they placed a tombstone in front of his grave. He saw that he had been buried with his Armor still on and he was glad to see that for it meant that he could still use it whenever he needed to. His friends stayed by his grave for some time. Soon their parents came to the place and learned of the whole story. Serena was the last one to leave, but before she did, Benji flew down to the ground and waved good-bye to her. She looked up at her father and mother and they walked away from her for a moment.
"I wanted to thank you guys for what you did for me. Remember that Evil may again show up here so be ever on the alert." Benji said to her.
"You take care of yourself, you here me? Now that your are dead, you may be more vulerable to attack. Be careful, Benji." Serena said.
"I will. Tell the others that they should not feel saddness for me. I will always be with you and your friends. Listen, if you should find my parents and my brother. Give him this." Benji said and gave Serena his medallion for his Magical Armor.
"I will." Serena said to him.
"Serena? You ready to go?" They heard her father call to her. She turned towards the direction that he and her mother had gone and said:
"Be there in a moment!" She turned back to Benji. He was smiling. He shook his head and said:
"You should go to them and take care. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I'm just going to fly around the city once and then come back here." Benji said. "Oh and by the way, tell Ray that I know how she feels about me. I could sence it when the Ghost of Death brought me out of my body. Tell her I feel the same way about her."
"Alright. Hey, I'll see ya later!" Serena said and then ran to her father and mother. They drove home and Benji watched until they were out of sight. He then flew up into the air and began to fly over the city. He gazed to the west and saw that the sun was already very low in the sky. It was a bright orange and the clouds that were gathering by it were tipped with pink and yellow. Benji flew on and was soon lost to Serenas' sight. She sat back in her seat and was soon alseep. In her mind she saw that Benji was still flying and looking around at the damage that the fight with Evil and his servents had caused.
She knew that they would have no more trouble for a while, but her mind wandered to the battle and she saw the pile of dust getting blown away by the wind. Everything was so peaceful, so she was able to stay asleep all the way home. Her father carryed her into her room and gently put her on her bed and spread a blanket over her. Outside, Benji flew past the moon and saw the city of Saint Paul bathed in a bright whitish light. His battles were over and he knew that he could live in peace again for long time. Yet he wondered how long it would be until the next fight with Evil. He thought that Evil would never return, but then again, he knew that he might have a way to get back and he knew then that someone would have to bear his Armor and lead the fight against Evil. Should Evil ever return to this world, at least it would have the defence of the Light Warroirs.
Draconeis made an attack, but this time on Benji. He gave him a good right to the jaw and an upper cut to the bottom of his jaw. This was followed by a front snap kick to the face and a punch to the stomach. Benji took all of the attacks and came back at Draconeis with a spinning back kick, a right leg round house kick, a front kick, and a punch to the face. Draconeis made one mistake when he took the punch: He left his left arm up out in the air. Benji took hold of it and threw him into Oakon who was starting to stand up. They collided and were both out cold. That was when they joined in Serena's fight.
Chapter 42
A sword flashed out at Serena and would have cut her arm off if Benji hadn't blocked it with his. "What in the world? How dare you?! How dare......" Fireockin shouted to Benji, but he just gave him a front kick to the stomach and an upper cut to the jaw. Fireockin went sprawling onto his back. Benji gave him a hard ax kick to the solar plexes, but Fireockin was able to roll out of the way. He came back at him with a front snap kick to the knee and a punch to the face. Benji blocked both of them and the Serena used her power on him!
"LIFE FORCE ATTACK!" She shouted as she drew her head band off. It quickly became a bright white line of energy. She threw it at Fireockin and Benji ducked just in time. Fireockin was hit full in the chest by the head band.
Chapter 43
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I'LL BE BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!" Fireockin shouted as his body crumbled to a pile of dust and disappeared.
"Yeah right! You're dead!" Serena said as she caught her head band. It had sailed back to her once it had hit Fireockin. She put it back on and then the group quickly joined in the fight with Flamenessa. Benji gave her a flying side kick and a punch to the ribs. She blocked both of them and then kicked him right in the head. He went sailing into a wall of cold iron. He hit the wall head first and dropped back to the ground out cold. That was when things began to turn in the favor of Evil.
Chapter 44
"Benji! NO! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!" Ray shouted to Flamenessa when she saw that Benji had been hurt. Benji's body lay on the ground face down, still and lifeless. Death stole over his body. Death. Doom. Chaos. Pain. Death. Death. Death......
"FIRE WAVE ATTACK! DIE YOU SCUM BAG!" Ray shouted as she let loose her power. She claped her hands together and closed them in a tight fist. The only fingers that she had not clenched around in a fist were her index fingers. Her thumbs she pressed tightly against her index fingers. A bright red and orange light shot out of her index fingers and turned in a clockwise direction toward Flamenessa. The fire that Ray had used on Flamenessa was that from the sun. Flame darted in her eyes. Anger flared up inside of her. She clenched her jaw tightly and bared her teeth. She was pissed off and everyone could litterally feel her anger swelling up inside of her as she shouted the name of her power. Flamenessa was hit full in the face by the flames that her anger had caused and she flew into a pole behind her at a good seventy miles an hour.
Chapter 45
"HYAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Lita shouted as she make a punch to Evil's face. He easily avoided the attack and blasted her with white lightning! "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Lita shouted as she was hit by the bolts of lightning.
"HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! ENJOY THE LITTLE COOK OUT?! I CERTAINLY DID!" Evil said and laughted even more wildly and viciously than before.
"You........shall.....pay for....for....." Lita tryed to say something that would help her win the fight, but she merely fell down to her knees where she was when the bolts of lightning had hit her. She struggled again to get up and continue to fight back with every ounce of her body's streangth and anger. She was hurt and hurt badly. She had been nearly killed just by one blast from that evil person in front of her, laughing and jeering and hoping she would fight some more. Would she have the courage to fight and try to kill the person that had hurt her or would she be killed?
Chapter 46
Lita finally managed to get up and continue to fight. She didn't want to give Evil the chance at attacking her again, so she used every one of her fighting skills in order to put Evil away for keeps. But nothing she threw at him seemed to give any effect as to whether or not she would be killed. "Take that!" Ray shouted as Flamenessa had tryed to get up. She now lay on the floor out cold and bleeding. Ray had kicked her hard in the face. She then joined Mina with her fight. After they had both knocked out Brayockin, they ran over to Lita and helped her with the fight. Evil took on a very pleased look. He thought that he could kill these weak humans and then his trouble would be nearly over. He raised his hands up into the air and they looked like the talons of an eagle. Light shone on his hands and it quickly conected into one bright line of light. He then threw his hands forward at the five girls and lightning shot out of his hands. They knew that their end had come. Benji had said that he had given them all power that he knew would protect them from this sort of thing, but did he give them enough power as to be able to fight back after being hit by electricity?
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" The group heard someone shout.
Chapter 47
Suddenly a dark figure stabbed Evil in the back. "What?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Evil shouted as the blade of a sword went into his back and out his chest. He slowly tipped forward. He fell to the floor and died ere he hit the floor. His body bounced once and then lay still. Serena and her friends stared in shock and horror at the body. Black blood spilled forth from it and stained the floor. A look of utter pain and horror and shock was borne upon the dead man's face. Pain and hate lay forever in his eyes. His hands frozen in time as claws. A snarl was upon his face and it was frozen that way. Serena and her friends tore their eyes away from the body and then looked up to the dark figure that was still standing before them. All they could see were the person's eyes. An evil look was in the person's eyes and they all knew that they were in big trouble.
"Who.......who are you?" Serena asked the person in front of them. The person just looked at them. It was an evil look. One of doom and death and pain and horror combined.
"Who are you?" Amy asked. She was standing to the left of Serena and once she had heard her voice she had found courage to speak again.
"Please, tell us who are or what you want." Ray said. She was standing behind Amy and Serena.
"Why are you just staring at us? All we want to know is who you are." Mina said. She was standing to right of Serena.
"Please........tell us.....who you.....are." Lita said somewhat weakly. She was still very tired and sore from her fight with Evil. The person then began to laugh. It was a cruel laugh and they knew it.
"I do not want anything from you. You are not the people I had to fight. NightHawk is.....dead as you would say it here on this horrible planet." The person said.
"Wait a second! I reconize your voice. You're one of the people that I fought with until Benji came to my aid. You're the one who attacked Benji the moment he came to my aid!" Amy said. Her eyes were large with terror and Fear himself had taken hold of her heart and made it shake with horror.
"That I am and I am gone! See ya all around soon!" Draconeis said. He tossed a small black ball at them and it blew open. A large dark smoke screen filled the room. When it had cleared, Evils' body was gone. So were the bodies of Fireockin, Lord Cyclone, Flamenessa, Brayockin, and Oakon.
"Hey, where'd they go?!" Amy asked the open air.
"That really doesn't matter. As long as they're gone we can get out of here!" Mina said.
"Good idea, but first we have to find Benji." Serena said. She walked a little bit away from the group and then looked around. She spotted him lying face down on the cold floor of the building. His body was still and lifeless. The group quickly ran over to him.
"Is he? Is he.....dead?" Amy asked Serena who was knealing beside him.
"No I don't think so. How do we take off the helmet. I need to check for a pulse." Serena answered.
"Here. Let me." Ray said. She quickly found the snaps under his lower jaw and gave them a good quick tug. They came undone and Serena slowly and carefully removed the helmet. She pressed her index and middle fingers against the side of his neck and then looked up to Amy and her friends.
"Well?" Mina asked.
"He has a heartbeat, but I'm afraid to move him any more than we did when I took his helmet off. His neck might be broken." Serena said.
"Well if we can't move him more than we already have, what are we going to do?" Ray asked.
"There's only one thing that we can do. I'll have to use the power of the Life Force Attack. Hopefully it will revive Benji. If not, I think he'll want us to carry on the fight between good and evil." Serena said.
"It's worth a try." Lita said.
"Alright, I'll use it. Stand back. LIFE FORCE ATTACK!" Serena shouted. Her head band flew off her brow and started to circle Benji. Suddenly it stopped a few inches from his head. It began to flicker with a bright red light and then it became a line of red light. He slowly opened his eyes. Then the head band fell to the ground with a great clatter next to him. He strugled to get up, but was very weak. Lita and Ray helped him stand up. When he had found his balance again, they let go of him and he stood surrounded by his friends. Smiles of joy and happiness were upon their faces and in their eyes. He bent down and picked up the golden head band and gave it to Serena.
"I think this belongs to you." He said.
"Are you okay? I mean nothing's broken right?" Ray asked him. He looked at her and said:
"Yeah, I'm alright. Just a little tired, that's all."
"Listen, can we get out of here?" Mina asked.
"By all means. Let's go. We have some unfinished work." Benji said.
"What are you saying?" Lita asked him. He turned toward the exit.
"Evil and his followers are still alive. I can feel it. In order for Earth to be clensed of this evil, we have to go to the source of the evil. We must hold our last fight with them in the Castle Dragonsfire." Benji said.
"Wait.....Evil or whatever his name is had been killed by one of his own people. Draconeis had stabbed him in the back when he was about to kill us. So why do we need to fight them again?" Serena asked Benji.
"Evil isn't dead. That was only a fake move. Draconeis saved your lives so that way he and his friends could kill you at Dragonsfire. Evil was just a ghost. That wasn't the real person. The real Evil is still at Dragonsfire waiting for us." Benji said.
"Then why are we going to walk right into his trap?" Lita asked.
"What we're going to do is stay about a mile away from the castle, but we can't fight in a building. We'll need open space in order to combine our powers. Only then will we be able to fight Evil and win. Besides if I can get Evil, himself, outside of the castle, he'll be vulerable to attack. He can't use his magic outside of the castle gates any more. He's become too evil. His clone can. That was who he sent after us. That Evil was a clone." Benji said. "Are you ready?" He said to them all. They nodded and then they left the building quickly.
Chapter 48
Once outside of the building, they turned toward the direction that the Twin Towers lay. Slowly they began their walk toward them. They soon entered more of the city and then they noitced that the whole place was empty. Bare. Bone dry. Dry as dust in a desert. Lifeless. Dead. The whole city and probably the entire world was baren of people. Benji looked around. He could feel the tension in each person and knew that if anything were to come at them now, they might all be killed because of their feelings of fright. Horror. Panic. Dismay. Terror. Doom. Death. All of these they each felt with so much feeling that they knew that each feeling had become a person and was holding their souls and heart in their grasp.
Benji noticed that the sun was setting in the sky. It was a large orange ball of flame and it burned like a torch in the night air and sky. The clouds that were swiftly gathering, were lit up with bright pink and red. "What a beautiful sun set!" Lita said. She had stopped for a moment in order to rest. She looked out over the city and the sun shone brightly in her eyes. She then resumed her walk with the others and soon caught up to them. Soon they were bathed in a blanket of darkness. It quickly became icy cold. Death was playing with them and they all could feel his hand on their hearts. As the tempature dropped, so did their hopes of getting any where in the battle. Benji was the only one that still thought that they could make it through the end and that none would be killed. He stopped so suddenly that Serena and Amy bumped into him.
"Hey! What's with the sudden stop?" Serena asked him through chattering teeth.
"We shall go no further tonight. Come and follow me." Benji said. The group turned to the right and were soon standing in front of an old hotel. It was from the late eighteen hundreds. Benji pulled open the door and everyone walked inside. They looked around and saw no one at the front desk. Serena then walked up to the desk and took hold a black pen. She then signed their names into an old name book and then took the remaining keys on the rack. Soon everyone had a room to sleep in and they quickly fell into troubled dreams. It was nearly four in the morning when Wolf awoke.
Chapter 49
"Now what?" Wolf thought. He suddenly felt his fur stand on end and he jumped to his feet. He could smell someone coming. He let loose a growl that quickly awoke Benji. He sat up in his bed and stared into the darkness.
"What is it, old friend?" Benji asked Wolf.
"Danger.....is coming. I can't tell whether it's coming for us or one of your friends." Wolf said. Suddenly they heard a scream.
"HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!" The voice shouted into the empty halls.
"What the heck?! That came from Sireena's room!" Benji said and literally jumped out of his bed. He ran to the door and was about to open it when he stopped. Someone was already in his room.
Chapter 50
Benji turned around and then saw a silhouette of a human in front of the large plate glass window that he could look out of and see well over half the city. The full moon cast an eerie shadow of the person in front of him onto him. "Who are you and what do you want?" Benji said in a voice that demanded an answer.
"Surely you'd reconize me in your sleep, Benji of the NightHawk!" The person said. Benji remained unfazed by the voice. He knew who it was. He knew that it was Evil himself.
"So what do you want?!" Benji shouted at Evil. A deadly smile appeared upon Evil face.
"You should go and help your friends. I won't hurt you this time, but I will hurt your friends! Farewell!" Evil said and was gone. Instantly Benji put on his protectionary armor. He tore out of his room so fast he nearly ran right into Amy!
"Benji! Are you alright?" She asked him.
"I'm fine! What happened? I heard someone scream." Benji said.
"Benji, come here quickly!" They heard Serena shout. She was standing outside of her hotel room door, a look of utter fear and shock on her face.
"What is it?" Benji asked her. Serena stood paralized with fear when he got to her.
"Someone was inside of my room. Someone grabbed me and stuffed this into my hand and then left." Serena said once she was able to catch her breath. She handed Benji a small scroll. Tied around it, so as to keep it shut, was a black and white string. The colors of his Armor. On the scroll was the symbol of his Armor.
"Great! A lunatic comes barging in here and tries to hurt one of us and then gives you a message for Benji and then what does that person do?! Bales out right after the message has been delivered! What's next? A couple of snakes singing Joy to the World?!" Ray shouted with great hate in her voice.
"Benji, is something wrong?" Amy asked him. She had been watching him since Serena had given him the scroll. His jaw was locked in a grim expression. Nothing shone in his eyes. They were pale and bound tight to the scroll. After a while Benji rolled the scroll up and retied it. He looked up to Amy and said:
"Evil is gong to pay with his life!" Benji said to himself. He then realized that Amy and his friend were looking at him. "There's nothing wrong. Come on. We had better leave before anything else happens tonight." He said. The others looked at him strangely. They could see that something was terribly wrong and yet they knew that whatever it was, Benji would be able to handle it.......or would he?
Chapter 51
"Will Benji be able to fight Evil and win the war of the century? Or will Evil and his minions kill him and us? I hope that he will be able to teach them a lesson or two. And what was on the scroll? He didn't even seem to hear me when I asked him if anything was wrong." Amy thought. They had made their way outside of the building and were now standing a few feet from the door. They then began to walk toward the Castle Dragonsfire. Soon the final fight would begin and they were all scared to death of what awaited them at the gates of the castle.
"Benji! I need to talk to you!" Ray said. She quickly caught up to him for he was in the lead and she had been walking in the back of the line. Once she did catch up to him, she said:
"Listen I know that you may not want us to know what the heck was on that scroll, but do you think you could at least tell us what we're going up against?" Benji slowed down and stopped walking. He stared at Ray for minute and then spoke in a voice that sounded like Death's voice.
"The message was for all of us, even though it was addresed to me. It said that if we dared to come to Dragonsfire Castle then we will just be taking an inventation from Death. I'm worried that we won't make it past the first trap that Evil has set for us. If we all die in there, then Evil will claim this world and all others." Benji said.
"Holy cow! That really must have been some message to get you so scared!" Ray said.
"Yes. We must keep moving." Benji said and began walking again. They soon stood in front of the castle gates.
Chapter 52
"I need you guys to hide somewhere very close to the castle." Benji said. "You'll be safer in hinding than in fighting."
"Why do we have to hide?" Lita asked him.
"Because Evil and I are going to be fighting. I can handle anything that he throws at me. You guys aren't that strong yet and I want to surprize him by bringing you guys into the fight the second it seems to be going in his favor." Benji said.
"Good idea." Amy said. "The moment we show up, Evil won't know what hit him and we'd be able to win the fight."
"That's what I had in mind." Benji said. The rest of the group quickly ran into a building across the street from the castle. Benji then cupped his hands to his mouth and shouted: "HEY, EVIL! I GOT YOUR BLOODY MESSAGE, SO COME ON OUT! IF YOU WANT A FIGHT I'LL GIVE YOU ONE, BUT IT'LL BE THE WAY WE DO IT ON EARTH! NO MAGIC! WHAT'S THE MATTER? ARE YOU CHICHKEN?! I SAID GET YOU STINKING BUTT OUT HERE! COME ON! GET OUT HERE! DON'T FORCE ME TO COME IN THERE AFTER YOU!" Benji waited for a few seconds for a reply. Suddenly the ground began to shake beneath his feet. Benji could hardly stand. Then as suddenly as the shaking began, it stopped. Laughter followed.
"HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! SO YOU WANT ME TO FIGHT YOU EH?" Benji heard EVIL call down to him from somewhere inside the castle.
"YOU OBVIOUSLY HEARD ME! GET OUT HERE! I WANT TO FIGHT YOU FACE TO UGLY FACE, YOU JACK-ASS!" Benji called back.
"YOU KNOW, YOUR MOUTH WILL BRING YOU A LOT OF TROUBLE!" Evil called back. Benji knew that his plan wasn't working so he decided to go the next step to getting Evil mad enough to come after him himself. He had to make him think he was only second best in the art of white and black magic.
"GO SUCK AN EGG! I HEAR YOU'RE SO TERRIBLE IN MAGIC YOU HAD HELP GETTING THIS UGLY PILE OF ROCKS TO MY HOME WORLD! YOU SUCK IN MAGIC! I KNOW OF SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT ARE TWICE AS GOOD AS YOU IN THE ART OF BLACK MAGIC! I KNOW OF ONE PERSON WHO IS SO GOOD IN THE ART OF BLACK MAGIC THAT HE CAN FIGHT MY FRIEND, SAPPHIRE THE DRAGON, WITH BOTH OF HIS HANDS BEHIND HIS BACK, HIS MOUTH MAGICALLY SEALED TIGHT, WEARING A BLIND FOLD, AND STANDING ON ONE LEG!" Benji shouted back up to Evil. He heard a loud scream of hate and menace.
"I'LL BURY YOU ALIVE, NIGHTHAWK!" Evil shouted and a black lightning bolt charged down at him.
Chapter 53
The lightning bolt sped toward Benji. He merely stood where he was. He wanted Evil to think that he could be easily killed, though he knew that Evil would fire upon him at least three times. At the last second, before the bolt of death hit him, he jumped to the right. The bolt hit the street and huge pieces of the street blew up into the air. Benji lay on the ground. His face was slightly covered with a thin layer of dust and a few pieces of gravel and tar lay upon his body. He rose, after the dust had cleared, and stood up. He wiped off the dust on his clothing and faced the gates again. "I'M NOT DEAD, EVIL! I THOUGHT YOU COULD KILL A FLY IN LESS THAN A SECOND WITH THAT SPELL! I SEE NOW I WAS WRONG! LIKE I SAID BEFORE: YOU SUCK!" Another bolt of lightning, this time right at his head. He did a back flip and the bolt hit the street ten inches from his right foot. He landed on the ground and a few feet from the hole that it had made and stared down at it. It was at least ten feet long and twenty feet wide.
Benji looked up at the gates and a bright red light flshed in his eyes. He knew that he'd have to try again to get Evil outside of his throne room and onto the streets. "EVIL! EVIL, I'VE GOT NEWS FOR YOU! YOU BLEW IT! YOU CAN'T HIT THE BROAD SIDE OF A FLY'S WING EVEN IN THE LIGHT OF DAY! YOU SUCK! DO YOU HEAR ME UP THERE OR DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY IT TO YOUR FACE? YOU SUCK!" Benji shouted up to Evil. This time Evil got pissed. He threw not one, not two, not even four, but twelve lightning bolts at Benji. Benji was able to dodge all of them save the last one.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Benji shouted as he flew into the air. The bolt of lightning had hit him in the chest. He landed fifty feet from the castle, smoke rising from his body. He lay there still and lifeless. Dead. Stone cold. Lifeless. Gone. Deceased. Expired. Departed.
Chapter 54
Slowly Benji raised his eye lids. He slowly sat up and then stood. His body was covered in a thick layer of dust and debris. He shook it off and then walked back over to the gates of Dragonsfire. "THREE TIMES YOU TRYED TO KILL ME AND YET YOU FAILED AT EACH! SOME WIZZARD YOU ARE!" Benji called out to Evil. He knew that these words would bring him outside of the castle and he was right. Evil suddenly appeared a few feet to his right. Benji turned to him with a grim look upon his face.
"So you think I cannot kill you? I'll show you the sad mistake you made! I'll kill you with your friend's powers! WINDS OF CHOAS!" Evil said and Benji suddenly saw his brother's Armor and heard his voice. The Armor was standing in a combat stance above Evils' head, weapons drawn. A beam of dark blue lightning shot towards Benji!
Chapter 55
"WHAT?! Nooooooooo! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHG!" He shouted as the lightning picked him up off his feet and threw him into a building sixty feet away! Benji lay on his face half dead. He slowly rose to his feet and then put his Armor on.
"ARMOR OF NIGHTHAWK! EVIL YOU SHALL DIE HERE AND NOW! HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Benji shouted as he drew his swords and leapt at his old friend who was now his most hated enemy. He came down at Evil with a brillant slash to the top of the head and front kick to the stomach. The slash missed by a mile, but the kick hit pay dirt! Evil held his stomach in pain but came back at Benji with a powerful upper cut to the jaw. Benji took it and then kicked him in the face.
This was followed up by a jab to the nose, a right to the jaw, another kick to the solar plexes and a spinning back kick to the right knee. Evil was on the ground now. He was knealing on his knees, his right knee broken. Benji was about to knock him out and then kill him, when he struck back with his powerful White Lightning Attack!
Chapter 56
He raised his hand up in a claw-like look and white circles sprang to life on each of his fingers. Benji saw the attack and stopped his. He backed up and prayed that it wouldn't come, that Evil would not be able to use his magic outside of the castle more than once. Suddenly the white circles frizzled and disapeared! Evil looked at his right hand, which was the one he had risen to kill Benji with, a look of utter confusion and hate and horror spead across his face. "No. NO! This cannot be happening! I am the master of Black Magic! Nothing is stronger than me! My powers can't be limited to that pile of rock!" Evil shouted. He looked over to Benji and saw that a gleeful smile was on his face and in his eyes. Benji turned towards the building that his friends had gone into and then called them to him.
Chapter 57
Something was wrong. Benji could sence it. Suddenly he felt a great pain in his back. It was the blade of a knife.
"What the heck?!" Benji said. He turned around to look right into the glaring eyes of Brayockin. He knew that the knife had pierced his back and he fell to the ground. Brayockin stooped down and took out the Blade. He looked over at Evil, who was standing and smiling.
"I must admit that Flamenessa's idea, for once, worked. Nice of you to give to me the Blade of Death. NightHawk is dead." Brayockin said to Evil Evil nodded to him. That was when Serena and her friends barged out of the building and each of them did an amazing flying side kick. Brayockin was hit full in the face by Amy's foot. Draconeis was hit by Serena's flying side kick, Oakon was hit by Ray's, Lita was able to hit Flamenessa, and Mina slugged Lord Cyclone in the face with her flying side kick. They all flew into the street a few feet from where each had been standing. Evil looked down at Benji with a deep hatred in his eyes. Benji was still alive, barely. He stood up and tossed his left-hand sword to Amy and she caught it. Brayockin drew his swords and attacked with cruel streangth. Amy was able to fight back with firece power in her movements and Brayockin was litterally at her mercy. Benji then pointed his blade at Evils' neck and everything seemed to take forever. Evil pulled a sword from somewhere under his left sleeve and slashed at him with it.
He dodged the attack and kicked Evil in the face. Evil blocked the attack and hit Benji twice in the face and once in the stomach. "Die NightHawk and may you never walk Earth or Zadonkon again! May you be condemed to a spirit life!" Evil said. He slashed at his neck, but Benji blocked the attack with his sword. He countered and countered and countered again. All three slashes hit Evil hard in the arms and legs. Then Evil let loose his White Lightning. Eight bolts of the deadly lightning seared Benji with pain. He screamed fromt he pain and hit the street hard. Draconeis drew his swords and attacked Serena. She dodged every one of his attacks and kicked him in the groin and punched him in the face. He lay on the ground in pain and unconscious. Blood poured out of his mouth and nose. His right temple had a large purple bruise. His left eye was badly bleeding and was also purple.
Chapter 58
"If you are going to kill me, then you should do it before you are killed!" Evil said sarcastically. He smiled a mean and horried smile of victory over the Light of Good and Peace. If he were to kill Benji of the Armor of NightHawk and then his friends, there would be only Darkness left for the world. The Ancient One wouldn't be able to help them, for by the time that he would so, he would be dead. Evil had won.
"I'll die on my feet! Go on and kill me, you still have the power of love to deal with. You can't kill it and you know it all too well!" Benji said.
"How much do you want to bet? I'll kill you and then I'll kill these weakling human people that you have brought into our fight!" Evil said. He readied his White Lightning once again. Another blast from that spell and Benji might die!
"Virtue, Life, Justice, Wisdom, and Trust. These are the five keys of the Warriors of Light! These are the keys to the Light itself! That's what being a Light Warrior means, something that you wouldn't understand! You would never understand what it means to have the Light of Good shinning within you! No, not with your black heart so twisted and evil with death. Evil, you shall die before I do and I will make sure of that!" Benji said. He picked up his sword, which had fallen from his hand and then held it within the palm of his hand. He looked at the chipped blade. The light of the setting sun glared upon it and it shinned within his eyes, a brightness that was filled with the faces of all of his friends; dead and alive. He had their powers within and he knew it well. He then dropped the sword again and rasied his hands above him. He called upon the White Armor of Light.
"ARMOR OF LIGHT!" Benji screamed the words so loudly that they could be heard all over the city of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Instantly the Armor of White Light was upon his shoulder and his body. His eyes flashed with light and circles of white light twisted and turned within the irises of his eyes. Evil had met his match and it was time for the final confrontation. It was time that Evil left the world as we know it now. Benji drew the Swords of Light and made them the staff weapon that he had used countless times before. It was time for the original Light Warriors to rest and stop the quest of the Light and let he and his friend take over. It was time to free them and let them walk in peace. But would he be able to do it? Would Benji had enough life within his body to bear the Armor, withstand its power, and kill the one man that he has sought to finish and destroy for two long and pain-filled years? Would he live and do what he had come all this way to do? Would he be able to slay Evil and make sure that the Light Warriors of new would live to tell the tale of the Light Warriors of old? Would he die or would he live? He brought the Swords bear upon Evil's neck. His eyes were calm and they showed nothing save peace of mind. His friends watched the terrible battle rage onward and onward. Evil slashed at him with crule, wicked strikes and Benji blocked them all with the Sword Staff. He friends shouted to him to finish Evil, but he barely heard them.
"Come on Benji, finish him!" Serena called.
"Benji, do it!" Amy called.
"You can do it, Benji! I believe in you and your power! You can do it! Please, Benji, don't let him kill you! I believe in you!" Ray called out to him.
"Kill me and your troubles shall be over with." Evil suddenly said to Benji. "Go on, NightHawk! I am finished and want you to kill me!" Benji grabbed him and picked him six inches off the ground.
"If I kill you, you'll just take on another form! You were never the wizard Moeton, you were really Evil all along! Go back to the abyss that you once lived in and may you never return!" Benji shouted to Evil. He dropped him and he hit the ground with a thud. Benji raised his swords and brought them to bear once more on Evils' neck. He then spun the weapon around his head and called upon his power, but he didn't say the words in time. Evil had tricked him when he pretended to not be able to use his deadly magic! A lightning bolt of black soared through the air and bore down upon NightHawk!
Chapter 59
"WHAT THE HECK?! BENJI, WATCH OUT!" Ray shouted. She had seen the seceret attack made by Evil and then saw the bolt of lightning hit Benji in the chest. Benji's look turned to one of complete surprize and pain.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He shouted as he flew backwards. He flew into the side of the castle and lay on the ground as if he were dead. Ray ran to his aid.
"Benji, can you hear me?!" She called to him. He made no answer. Ray tryed again and again no answer came. Once more and once more no answer came to her. She looked up to Evil, who was now standing and gloating at her. Serena and the rest of her friends finally managed to take out the Evil Warlords and their friends. They joined Ray beside Benji's still and lifeless body.
"Is he.......is he.........dead?" Serena asked Ray. Ray merely looked at her with pleading eyes that said she wanted to say no, but she could not hide the truth from her friends. She slowly nodded her head.
"Noooooo. Oh, God no! He can't be dead! Not now! Not after all that he's fought for!" Amy said. She had raised her left hand up to her mouth as if to stop the words that came out.
"EVIL! HEAR ME! YOU SHALL PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!" Ray shouted at the top of her lungs. She left her friends and stood up. Tears of pain and hate toward Benji's killer flared in her eyes. Evil merely stood where he was and looked at her. A gleeful smile was upon his face. His eyes sparkled in the setting sun.
"Come on little lady! I'll take you on and then I'll kill you!" Evil said to Ray. His face was full of glee at the death of NightHawk.
"FIRE WAVE ATTACK! HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Ray shouted as her power sprang to life. The flames of her anger and despair mixed and became a raging inferno! Ray clasped her hands together and pointed her thumbs straight upwards into the air. Her index fingers pointed to Evil. She spun in a three hundred and sixty degree circle and then the flames of her anger and despair flew out of her index fingers towards Evil, turning in a clockwise direction. He stood where he was for he had no place to go and he would not run from a fight. The flames hit him and he flew backwards. He landed on the ground about sixty feet from where he had been a half second ago. Ray jumped into the air and said the name of her power again as she came charging down upon Evil. The flames again sprang to life and again Evil took them. He got up and attacked her with a lightning bolt and she was hit full in the chest and flew right into the same place that Benji had landed. She fell to the earth not too far from his body. Smoke and dust rose from her body. Blood trickled slowly down the corner of her lower lip.
"FIRE! NOOOOOO! YOU MONSTER!" Serena shouted as she attacked Evil. She also ended up where Ray was. Soon everyone was in the same area. Then they slowly climbed to their feet and then hudled in a circle.
"So what are we going to do about this guy?" Amy said. She was holding her left arm at the middle of her bicep, where she had been hit by Evil's attack.
"I say we rush him again!" Lita said. She had a black eye from her fight with him. "I don't think he can take all of us at once."
"How? You saw what he did to each of us and to Benji! What shall we do? Leave and let him have this world?" Ray said. Her left arm was wrapped around her ribs.
"I really don't know of what we should do about him, but I won't stop fighting until we've killed him or until he's killed us." Mina said. She held her right arm like Amy was doing to her left arm.
"I have an idea." Serena said. She was craddling her left arm in her right and holding both tightly against her stomach.
"What?" The four other girls said together.
"Well, what if we combined our powers? That should give us enough energy to kill this monster." Serena said. It was worth a try. If they failed to kill Evil on this next attack, then they didn't even want to think about what awaited them. Serena knelt down beside Benji's body and looked into his face. Eventhough there was dryed blood coming out of his nose and right corner of his mouth, she could still tell that he was barely alive.
"Life force attack!" Serena said in his ear and she touched his forehead with her right hand. Slowly his eyes opened. "Guys! I think I just brought Benji back to life!" She called to her friends. They swiftly knealt down to him and then they saw that he was struggling to remain alive. They helped him stand up and then they made their move.
"Evil, you have still failed to kill me. Though, I must admit, you did come close. There's just one problem with coming close to killing me. If you don't do it within one strike, you had better start running because I will kill you." Benji said with as much streangth as he could. He barely had enough to draw his swords. Evil looked at him in amazement and then laughed. He knew that he could easily kill them all. "Get ready for the final fight!" Benji said. He now stood with his swords drawn and clashed the ends of them together. He jumped into the air and shouted the name of his power.
"RAGE OF LIGHT!" Benji shouted.
"LIFE FORCE ATTACK!" Serena shouted and her power joined with Benji's. Her head band flew from her right hand and was hit by the Flames of Light from the Armor of Lights' Swords of Light.
"ICE WINDS BLAST!" Amy shouted. Her power joined that of Lifes' and NightHawks'. She placed her hands, palms facing each other, in front of her chest and a bubble of ice wind appeared between them. Then she brought her hands downwards to her right hip, her left arm going across her stomach, her right hand placed upon her hip and the bubble grew in power. She pivited in a three hundred and sixty degree circle once on her right foot and then brought her hands back up to her chest, this time, though, she had crossed her arms at the wrists, right hand closest to her chest, in an "X" formation. She then threw her arms outward, palms facing Evil and the bubble of ice wind flew from her arms and joined with the other powers. The bubble of ice wind soared over to the head band of Serenas' power and then covered it in ice.
"FIRE WAVE ATTACK!" Ray yelled at the top of her lungs. Her power did the same thing that the rest were doing: it joined with them and made them all stronger. The flames from her power covered Serenas' head band and the ice under it glowed with a bright red light.
"VENUS CRESENT ATTACK!" Mina yelled. Her power also did the same. Her power came out of her head band. It was an orange streak of light that had come out from the jewle in her head band. Her bright blue eyes shone with peace. There was nothing save for the feeling of peave that they all felt. It soared over to the head band and then covered it in a thin orange light that was barely visible from the light of Rays' power.
"JUPITER THUNDER BOLT CRASH!" Lita shouted as her power shot forward and joined in the line of powers. Her power came out of her green jewle in her golden head band. It was dark green beam of light that would spin and twist in a counter-clockwise direction. The twisting light beam of energy and power quickly found Serenas' head band and then coered it in a bright green light. Even though the head band would be what would hit Evil, beams of light still flowed from the hands or head bands or swords of people who had called upon their powers. Red, blue, black, green, orange, and white were the colors of the beam of light that shot out toward Evil. He combated the attack with his black lightning attack. The two powers collided and the side of Light seemed to be loosing for a moment, but then it seemed to be winning. It pushed back the power of Evil's attack and then hit him in the chest.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Evil shouted with all of his might and power he could summon within his body. His body cracked and he fell to the ground as a pile of dust. The castle quickly had a prizum of white light spread over it and it disappeared. The damage to the city was immence, but repairable. That was when Benji fell to the ground.
"Benji! What is it?!" His friends shouted together. They crowded around him. He lay on his back facing each of them, his eyes half closed in a daze. He was still and cold. He didn't move, didn't speak. All could feel some ghost hovering over Benji, gloating and laughing and hoping that the end would come in pain and misery. All could feel the Shadow of Death approaching their friend. Benji shivered. He knew that his time had come. His time upon the real world was slowly ending and he knew he would leave it in pain and misery.
"Benji, can hear or see us?" Serena asked him. Benji remained in his daze. He could barely move and he had no strength left. He was dying and he could not fight the Ghost of Death. Soon, he knew, that he would appear in front of him and he would go with the Ghost and be gone from his friends forever.
"Come on, Benji, hang in there! Everything should be alright now. We stopped Evil's plans to conquer this world and we could never have done it without you." Amy said. Benji turned to her and said in a low, cracking whisper:
"I........am.........sorry. AAAAAH. I am....dying. I need you and.....your....your.....friends......to do.......something.....for me. AAAAAH." Benji's eyes were clouded and he could barely see anything.
"What do you want us to do?" Ray asked him. She had taken hold of his right hand to let him know that they were still with him for he could not see anyone now, but only hear them. Tears shone in five pairs of eyes. At this moment Lita quickly left them all for a second and called the paramedics. They had said that they would get there as soon as possible, but she knew that they would never make it in time. They all knew that they would not be able to save Benji even if they did use their magical powers that he had given them. He was too far gone.
".....I.........I.....need you......to....carry.....on the...the...fight...with...Evil. Please do.....that for me. AAAAAAAH." Benji managed to say through gritted teeth.
"What do you meen: "To carry on the fight with Evil?" Mina asked him. "None of us understand."
"I.....mean.....that.....should.....Evil ever....ever....rear his ugly......head at...at you guys......again, I....want you guys to fight......him....Remember what...you have....learned. Combine....powers......when.....most.....needed.....
You......are now......Warriors of......Light." Benji said.
"Please don't die...........you have so much to teach us. Please hang in there. I can hear sirens on the way. Lita must have gone to call the paramedics. Don't try to talk any more. You'll be alright. You'll be alright." Serena said. A tear trickled down her right cheek.
"They.....won't make......it.....in.....time.....I......too.....far.....gone. J...j...just.....remember....what...you learned.....I will....always....be with...you. You...all will.....be able.....to s....s....see....me. Farewell.....my.....friends." Benji said.
"Come on Benji, hang in there!" Lita said. She had rejoined the group and saw that their friend was near death already. She knew, as well as the others, that he would die and not make it to the hospitle.
"Remeber one other thing for me." Benji said.
"What?" Ray asked him.
"These words. Hopefully they'll give you comfort......for when....I leave you all." Benji said. He gathered all of his remaining strength and then began to softly sing a song.
Roads go ever ever on to the lands beyond the sea. Leaving havens grey with rain. Now that years have slipped away, leaving friends with gentle pain, as they start another day. Roads I've travled, I must leave for I have turned the final bend. Weep not empty tears, but grieve as the road comes to an end. It's so easy not to try. Let the world go drifting by. Benjis' eyes closed forever. It was at this moment that Mina finished the song for their friend, but she did it not as farewell gift to him, she did it because he was their friend. As she sang, Ray slowly joined her in the singing and then every one of them were singing the song with pain in their hearts and tears running wildly down their cheeks. They had never heard the song before, but it was as if they had known it all their lives.

At the last word, Ray burried her head in her hands. She looked away from her friends' lifeless body. Though Benji had asked them in his song not to weep empty tears, she did so any way. They were not empy to her. To her they were filled with her feeling of loss; her feeling of love. She had secretly cared about Benji a lot and she had never told him. She then turned back around and knealt down beside her friend. She took hold of his right hand and held it firmly in her own. They were now the Light Warriors. Benji had also warned them that Evil might return.....but should he do so, would their fate be that of the original Light Warriors? Or, worse yet, would their fate by that of the current, but now dead, Light Warriors? She had no way of knowing. She then bent down to his ear and softly whispered the words: "I love you, Benji."
"Nooooooo. He can't be dead. Not now. Not when he has so much to teach us." Lita said. She knealt down onto her right knee, left leg before her, bent at the knee. She placed her right hand upon her heart. "I pledge my life to the fighting of Evil and his minions. Never will I let them walk this planet! Never will I let them take another soul like they have done to NightHawk. Until I die, either in battle or age, I will fight them all to my last breath of air and I will not rest until I have do so. I will not rest until Evil has been destroyed for keeps!" She said with a terrible hatred in her eyes and voice. She turned away from the horrible picture that was so greatly painted before their eyes. Tears rolled down everyone's cheeks. Ray's jaw was tense and tight. Her eyes burned with a fire the like of which she had never felt before. She looked up and saw the Ghost of Death walking toward them. She still held Benji's right hand and this she gripped harder. She knew that Benji would be forever gone to them if Death took his soul.
"Please don't take him. I beg of you, please!" Ray said in a whisper. Her eyes shook and and her heart cryed out as she saw that the Ghost didn't care about what might happen to them all if he took their friend away. He continued to walk toward them and then he stopped and looked at the five people that stared at him with huge eyes filled with pain and saddness. He walked on a bit further toward them all.
"Stop! Don't take our friend! Please!" Lita shouted to the Ghost. He did stop, but he didn't turn around and leave.
"Go back to where you came from! Please don't hurt our friend!" Mina shouted. She was crying heavily, but she was still able to yell at the Ghost. She thought that if they could keep him away from their friend, he might awake up and this terrible picture would end and they would all awake in their own homes knowing that it was just a nightmare. The Ghost didn't turn and leave them nor did it continue to walk toward them. Instead it raised its hands up to its hood and pulled it back. Under the hood was skull. It had a crack that spread in a forked line from the upper left portion of the skull to the left eye.
The Ghost walked toward them some more. It was now less than twenty feet from Benji's body. "If you don't stop, I will fight you. I'll give you one last chance: go back to where you came from and you may live another day." Serena said.
"Please! Can't you see that this person lying in the gravle of the battle that many fought has won the war against your brother?! You can't take him away from us! We need him. Please don't come any further toward him or we shall all fight you to our deaths." Amy said. She stood up and took hold of Benji's swords. She unclasped them and then gave one to Lita. She kept the other and held it in front of her, ready to fight back with all of her power that she had left. The Ghost stayed where it was and didn't move. After a few seconds, it spoke to them!
"You are all very brave people and so was Benji of the NightHawk Armor. You all fought hard and to live, Benji had given up his life to save you and his world from the hands of my brother, Evil. Now that he is dead, I have to bring him to the Land of the Dead. So if you don't mind, I will do that now."
"Forget it! I won't let you get any closer to him!" Lita shouted and stabbed the Ghost her sword. The blade pierced the Ghosts' sternum and then went all the way through its back. Lita brought the sword out again, but saw that there was no blood on the blade. She stared in horror as the Ghost continued to walk toward Benji's still and lifeless body. Now the Ghost was standing just a few inches away from his body when Lita tryed to cut its head off. She swept the swords' blade through the skull's neck and then pulled it back so that it would not have a chance to get the sword. Nothing happened to the Ghost. It didn't fall to the ground and die nor did it take Benji's soul yet. It turned to face Lita and her friends.
"Why are you working so hard to stop me from taking this boy's soul and bringing him to the Land of the Dead where he now belongs?" It asked her. Lita felt a tear roll down her cheek.
"Because........he is our friend and friends don't abandone each other. I know that may be something which you can't understand, because all you do is take the souls of people and don't even care about what the friends of the deceased person says to you! You don't even care about I'm talking about, do you?!" Lita said to the Ghost and stared at it with a fire burning in her eyes.
"I see that you and your friends were really close friends of Benji's. I can see that you will stop at nothing to stop me from taking him away. I will not take him away from you and your friends. I will let him decied if he wants to go with me or not. If he does, then you must let me take him away, if he wants to stay upon this planet, then I will let him live in peace as a ghost upon this world." The Ghost of Death said.
"Thank you. Thank you so much." Lita said to the Ghost.
"Wait! How are you going to talk to Benji if he's dead? We should also be able to hear what his choice is and what his real choice is, not what you want." Serena said.
"I will speak with his spirit. You will be able to hear everything that we say for I cannot lie to you. If I did, I'd become just like my evil brother. Shall we begin?" The Ghost said. Serena and her friends nodded to him and he touched Benji's forehead with his right hand. Benji's spirit came out his body and floated over to his friends. His body waved in the light breeze.
"Benji, I have to ask something of you. Your friends don't want me to take you to the Land of the Dead where you belong. You have a choice: To come with me to the Land of the Dead or to stay here with your friends as a ghost. What is your choice?" The Ghost of Death said. Benji didn't answer but looked at the being in front of him and then to his friends and then back to the being.
"I choose to stay with my friends." Benji's spirit said. "I will not go with you to the Land of the Dead."
"Very well. I hope that you enjoy your choice. Farewell NightHawk. Remember that you shall always have a way into the Land of the Dead, all you need do is ask me to show you the way." The Ghost said to Benji.
"Wait. If I did go there to speak with other spirits, will I be able to get back?" Benji asked the Ghost.
"Oh, yes. Once you have stayed on this planet for a few days you will always be able to get back to your resting area." The Ghost said. "Good bye for now." He disappeared and Benji turned toward his friends. He smiled at them and then flew off into the night. The paramedics arrived at the place where his body lay. They quickly knew that he was dead and they took his body to a graveyard. They placed him under an old willow tree. Benji's spirit watched the whole thing. From the each shovle full of dirt until they placed a tombstone in front of his grave. He saw that he had been buried with his Armor still on and he was glad to see that for it meant that he could still use it whenever he needed to. His friends stayed by his grave for some time. Soon their parents came to the place and learned of the whole story. Serena was the last one to leave, but before she did, Benji flew down to the ground and waved good-bye to her. She looked up at her father and mother and they walked away from her for a moment.
"I wanted to thank you guys for what you did for me. Remember that Evil may again show up here so be ever on the alert." Benji said to her.
"You take care of yourself, you here me? Now that your are dead, you may be more vulerable to attack. Be careful, Benji." Serena said.
"I will. Tell the others that they should not feel saddness for me. I will always be with you and your friends. Listen, if you should find my parents and my brother. Give him this." Benji said and gave Serena his medallion for his Magical Armor.
"I will." Serena said to him.
"Serena? You ready to go?" They heard her father call to her. She turned towards the direction that he and her mother had gone and said:
"Be there in a moment!" She turned back to Benji. He was smiling. He shook his head and said:
"You should go to them and take care. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I'm just going to fly around the city once and then come back here." Benji said. "Oh and by the way, tell Ray that I know how she feels about me. I could sence it when the Ghost of Death brought me out of my body. Tell her I feel the same way about her."
"Alright. Hey, I'll see ya later!" Serena said and then ran to her father and mother. They drove home and Benji watched until they were out of sight. He then flew up into the air and began to fly over the city. He gazed to the west and saw that the sun was already very low in the sky. It was a bright orange and the clouds that were gathering by it were tipped with pink and yellow. Benji flew on and was soon lost to Serenas' sight. She sat back in her seat and was soon alseep. In her mind she saw that Benji was still flying and looking around at the damage that the fight with Evil and his servents had caused.
She knew that they would have no more trouble for a while, but her mind wandered to the battle and she saw the pile of dust getting blown away by the wind. Everything was so peaceful, so she was able to stay asleep all the way home. Her father carryed her into her room and gently put her on her bed and spread a blanket over her. Outside, Benji flew past the moon and saw the city of Saint Paul bathed in a bright whitish light. His battles were over and he knew that he could live in peace again for long time. Yet he wondered how long it would be until the next fight with Evil. He thought that Evil would never return, but then again, he knew that he might have a way to get back and he knew then that someone would have to bear his Armor and lead the fight against Evil. Should Evil ever return to this world, at least it would have the defence of the Light Warroirs.
