My first foray into a serious medical procedure went off without a hitch. They got me into pre-op. I saw my team - one surgical nurse, three anesthesiologist and the surgeon. I was out before they wheeled me out of the room. Although Bubba tells me I kept trying to remind her about the dirty dishes. So much for a smooth and classy entrance into the deep sleep.
So far so good. My hand was killing me where they put the IV in and my speech is not up to par. The doctor tells me that there was an extra nodule on the back of my thyroid which he had some difficulties removing. This means that my voice will take a bit longer than usual to come back and it may not at all. At the moment every time i cough I sound like Gollum. Super sexy let me tell you.
Still dropping off to sleep unexpectedly for now. Hopefully that will go away in time too. Until then, so far so good.
