Dreaming of Greenland

Jan 24, 2007 23:53

I've got a thing for places I've never been. Last night before I went to sleep I was reading one of the many ant books I've been recently reading and came across the unsurprising point that there are no ants in Greenland. I fell alseep at that point (it was late) and ended up dreaming about learning dutch to go perform experiments in Greenland. Now I'm all amped up about this fairly bizarre concept of a country. Its 81% glacier and has a population of a little over 50 000. It's wikipedia article (which is shorter than the article about the D&D world Ebberon) has a picture of the prime minister and I got an overwealming thought of "Wow, anti-climatic way to be a pm", but then, theres some homely appeal to being the prie minister of an island covered in ice with a smaller population than newcastle.

This post was bought to you by the society for Greenland awareness, in the interest of making sure you rember greenladn exists and is in some way a real country.
