I heard on the radio yesterday that Death Cab for Cutie was named after a Beatles lyric. So I looked it up on Wikipedia. Not quite. But they did in fact lift their name from a song title by the Bonzo Dog Dooh-Dah Band. You all probably knew that. I did not. The song was on the Magical Mystery Tour movie though, hence the confusion. But. The funny thing I found out while bumming around Wikipedia is that one of the members of that band is named Vernon Dudley (The Bonzo Dog band, not Death Cab). Uncle Vernon and his son Dudley, anyone? Or is it purely a coincidence because the English do SO love the names Vernon and Dudley? Hah.
Edit: Ok. So maybe I should not have given up my career as a recorder player quite so soon. This brought tears to my eyes.
