***Trashed and Scattered***

Chapter One

Keep on writing you're just raping yourself
nothing can take my mind away from them) - Avenged Sevenfold's Trashed and Scattered.

A black haired teen leaned over and grabbed his C1 Schecter guitar from under his bed. He held his guitar on his lap closely, thumb touching slightly on each of the strings once to make it hum lightly against his body. He liked not using his amplifier when he was playing it out of boredom. He closed his black eyes in contentment as he knew his guitar was still tuned.

The aspiring guitarist began to sweep his fingers over the strings, his other hand touching the strings over the fret board, making them sing tamely. He began playing the first melody of Avenged Sevenfold's Trashed and Scattered, and soon he was lost in the fierce melodies the instrument was making.

He was too tuned in into his playing that he did not hear footsteps pounding up the stairs, nor the door to his room being thrown open and slamming against his wall. God help the poor soul that had Uchiha Fugaku furious.

Sasuke let his eyes slide sideways to his father, when suddenly the older Uchiha threw him a piece of paper with an angry growl of "What the hell is that, Sasuke?"

Sasuke put his guitar on his bed and looked up at the man who giving him a glare with a set jaw, before he leaned over to pick up the parchment from the floor.

A letter from Musician Institute California; stating that his application in Guitar Institute Technology had been accepted.

A grateful smile graced Sasuke's lips. "I got accepted…" he mumbled happily. But he had to curse when he remembered the one who brought him the letter.

Well, think about some parents who would not be very pleased at learning their children preferred to be a musician than having a normal education, which they would love to assume having bright future ahead, like medical or business thing. And Uchiha Fugaku was that type of parents, or maybe worse.

"We've been through this Sasuke. You will not attend any college to become a damn musician! You are going to inherit the Uchiha Martial Arts Academy, and continue building the Uchiha name! "

Sasuke stood up from his bed, sighing, his black bangs covering one of his eyes. "I don't give a damn about the fucking academy. You can give it to your damn pupil for all I care," he said calmly, uncaring, even if his father shot him a death glare from the door.

The older Uchiha slammed his fist on Sasuke's desk, making the items placed on it rattling. "What do you think you were saying? I'm your father, for God's sake!" Fugaku said, through gritted teeth.

Sasuke shrugged his shoulders. "I know that…, Father. But that doesn't mean you can decide on whatever the hell I could or couldn't do."

"Well you know what, Sasuke, you can leave this house if you want to," his father stated, "because as long as you live under my roof, and use my money, you will do as I say and follow my plans!" bellowed Fugaku.

Sasuke stiffened, but then regained his composure. He narrowed his onyx eyes, and replied, "Alright, I'm going out of this house then! And keep your fucking money, Father. I sure as hell can survive without it!" He replied angrily, before he turned around and began stuffing his duffel bag with his clothes, and putting his guitar in its case.

Fugaku was furious. And Sasuke was just asking for his death. He took one long stride toward his son, and made a grab of Sasuke's arm. He yanked his son almost violently, making Sasuke almost stumbled as he turned on one of his feet.

"Fine! You can go out of this house!" He pointed his finger harshly at Sasuke. "But just so you know, if I ever see you at my porch again, and asking for my help, you will be made into an arrange marriage and you will have to inherit the academy, whether you like it or not! You hear me, Sasuke?!"

Sasuke stiffened, again. But what would be a better way to his freedom than being thrown out of the house? Ah, maybe his mother wouldn't be very pleased at this. And his brother would be very nosey at him. And not to mention how hard it would be to live on his own. But he could care less, as long as he could live up his dreams.

Sasuke then yanked his arm forcefully from under his father's grip, and told him simply. "Deal."

Fugaku stood unmoving with a deep frown, his pointer finger shaking with suppressed fury in between Sasuke's eyes. Then the older Uchiha growled, as he practically lost at his words. He pulled his own hand and tearing his gaze away from the determined eyes of his son, before leaving and shutting the door far harder than necessary.

Sasuke let out one deep shuddering breath. He rubbed his forehead distractedly, and muttering a, "Fuck." Oh how he knew what he had gotten himself into. But still.

He glanced at the acceptance letter and folded it neatly before stuffing it in the side pocket of his duffel bag.

A determination was set on his features, as he picked up his bag and guitar, and turned around to stalk out of his house.

The rain was pouring outside, as Sasuke reached his car - a car he got from his older brother, Uchiha Itachi, as his seventeen years old birthday present - and dumped his belonging on the backseat, before he jumped in. He wasn't going to take anything else from his house, or anything which was bought with his father's money. He pulled almost violently out of the driveway, before speeding off in to a random direction.

He turned on the radio and cranked up the volume full blast, desperate to get his father's high and mighty voice out of his head.

Three hours later, Sasuke found himself in the middle of fucking nowhere. The rain hadn't stopped since he left his house, and everything around him; the roads, the buildings, were unfamiliar, but he kept driving, until his gas was gone.

He pulled into a local gas station to fill up his tank, scowling at the outrageous price of premium, but couldn't really do anything about it as his Corvette only took premium.

Sasuke walked to a tiny shop with a faint sound of Martina McBride. It was quite a drastic change from the ear-splitting wail of In Flames back in his car as he stepped inside.

A chunky old man in his late fifties looked up from his 17 inches television, his eyes were small and so unbelievably round, and he flashed Sasuke a warm smile. Sasuke returned the smile with his own kind of smile, a smirk, though he tried to make it friendlier than his usual smirk. He grabbed a can of Heineken before heading over the counter to place his purchase and ¥500. "¥420 for gas too, please?" (1)

The old man offered a smile before ringing up Sasuke's total. "You must be a long way from home," he said.

Sasuke's brow rose in confusion, "How do you tell?"

"Well… we don't often see one of those around here," the old man replied, gazing to Sasuke's car.

Sasuke followed his gaze out, and a small smile tugged at his lips. "I see." But suddenly, something hit him like a ton of bricks, "…Where exactly is here anyway?"

"Konoha," the old man said simply.

"Konoha?" Sasuke's brain did a mental double take. God! How the fuck did he gets all the way out there?!

The old man smiled warmly again and cocked his head slightly to the side. "I wouldn't call this as a prime weather for a casual drive…" he waved his chubby hand to the pouring rain outside. "Something in your mind, young man?"

"Been kicked out from the house by my father," Sasuke replied. Well not exactly, in fact he was the one who had said about leaving the house.

The old man's brows rose to his hair line, but then he flashed Sasuke yet another comforting grin. "I see."

He handed Sasuke's change, but Sasuke shook his head in protest, "Keep it."

"Bless you," said the old man, as he put the change in his pocket and closed the drawer.

"Thanks for your help," Sasuke said, waving off the holy admiration.

"Have a great night, son. Try to stay dry."

Sasuke nodded in appreciation and walked out the door as the old man returned to his small television. Sasuke hurried through the rain and into his car as he dug in his pocket in search for his cell phone. When he found it, he flipped it open and press one of the speed dials programmed in the gadget.

Sasuke waited until a groggy and slightly gruff voice answered him with a "Hello?" He immediately could tell the other had been asleep.

"Dobe."

"Bastard? What the hell, man? You woke me up."

"I know," but Sasuke wasn't going to say sorry, and the dobe knew what was best then to ask him one.

There were a brief pause, and even miles away, Sasuke knew the dobe could sense his distress. "What's up?"

But then Sasuke realized that he wasn't even sure why he had called the blond dobe. "Uh… I'm in Konoha," he replied, distractedly.

"Huh? What the fuck are you doing in Konoha?"

"I…uh…I left the house."

"Well, yeah you left the house, that's why you're in Konoha right now."

Sasuke rolled his eyes at his best friend's sarcasm. "You know what I mean, Dobe," he huffed.

There was another long pause at the other end. Sasuke guessed his best friend was trying to recollect anything he had told the blond about his ambition, his application to Musician Institute in California, and the Uchiha's academy.

"…I don't know what to say, Sasuke."

"Yeah. I don't know what to do."

Naruto laughed. "Moron."

"…I don't wanna go back there, Dobe."

"Then don't. Stay away for a few days. It'll do you good to get away for a while, as well as to think of what to do next."

A silence fell between them again and Sasuke scratched nervously at the non-existence grime on his steering wheel. "Come with me, Dobe."

"What?"

"Come with me. I want you here with me."

"Uh…why?"

"I dunno. But please?" Fuck, Sasuke beg to no one. But pride be damned. He needed the blond.

"Um…when?"

"Now."

"Bastard, it's almost one in the fucking morning."

"So?"

Sasuke heard Naruto sighed loudly.

"…Dobe?"

Naruto didn't answer back. But Sasuke heard the faint rustling of sheets in the background. "Fine. But you're gonna have to give me some time, I'm not even ready."

"Aw, you don't have to get all dolled up just for me, Dobe."

"Fuck you, Bastard." Sasuke smirked as he could practically hear the blush in the blond dobe's voice.

Sasuke looked up from his steering wheel and spotted a hotel across the street. "Look for the Leaf Inn. I'm gonna get us a room."

A 'hn' was his answered before the other end hung up.

02:18 AM.

Sasuke was lying in bed in a hotel room he had settled in, and flipping aimlessly through local channels. He glanced at his cell every three minutes, but still no word from Naruto. Sitting up, Sasuke reached for his wallet on the nightstand. He looked at what was left in his wallet after paying for the room, and his ATM card. He had saved some of his allowance to his own account, just in case something like this happened. But then, he knew it wouldn't last very long since he still had to look for a place to stay, and something to eat. He needed a job, and it should pay him nicely, if he wanted to survive the harsh life.

Deciding he could figure out that problem later, he threw his wallet back to the nightstand, and thought he might as well take a shower before Naruto arrived.

He shut off the TV and headed for the bathroom where he jumped straight to the shower. He ended up staying in a lot longer than he had intended. He let the hot water washed away the years of control his father had upon him. When he finally got out, he felt so free he almost jumped in his joy.

He stepped out of the bathroom just in time for a knock at the door.

Sasuke's eyes immediately flicked to the clock.

03:10.

There was no way that could be Naruto. He couldn't possibly had gotten there that fast.

Sasuke pulled on his jeans and headed for the door, pausing a moment before opening it hesitantly and receiving a shock to his better judgment.

Little Uzumaki Naruto stood patiently in the hallway, drenched from the rain, with a bag slung over his shoulder. A contented smile made its way across his pink lips and blue eyes shined underneath his blond locks.

"Hn," Sasuke grunted, despite the terrifying need to pull the blond into an embrace.

Naruto smiled a crooked smile. "Miss me?" he teased.

"I just saw you a couple hours ago, dork," Sasuke retorted.

Naruto rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I miss you too, Bastard." He brushed Sasuke's shoulder as he stepped into the room and tossed his bag on the floor.

The next hour was spent over a bag of potato chips and two cans of Coke Naruto had bought along the way; both of them sprawled out on one of the beds talking about school and some local band that had Naruto's friend in it.

Until Naruto started the topic that had Sasuke groaned inwardly. "What happen?" came the inevitable question.

Sasuke sighed. "I got a letter from the MI, they accepted me." (A/N. MI = Musician Institute)

Naruto smiled appreciatively. "Really? Well, congratulation, Bastard."

"Yeah, but my father read it before I had."

"And? He didn't want you to take it?"

"Yeah, he wanted me to inherit the fucking academy." Sasuke moved on the bed to be more comfortable, before continuing, "Saying that as long as I live under his roof I better listen to what he said and follow his plans."

Naruto let out a heavy breath as he propped up his head on his hand. "So what are you gonna do next?"

Sasuke shrugged. "I'm gonna need a place to stay and a job."

Naruto lied beside Sasuke, and stared up at the ceiling, thinking. "I think I can help you with that," he said. Turning his head to the side, he continued as Sasuke looked at him curiously, "You remember my uncle that owns a fishing house?"

"Hn," Sasuke nodded.

"He looks for an employee. I can make him give you some place to stay in the house. He owes me after all."

A relief smile made its way on Sasuke's lips. He stared at his friend with slightly glazed eyes. "Thanks, Dobe," he said, gratefully.

Naruto grinned and punched Sasuke on the arm. "Hey, anything for a friend, Bastard."

Only when the blond let out a huge yawn, did Sasuke realize how tired he really was. "We should get some sleep," he decided, moving to the other bed next to Naruto's.

Naruto muttered in an agreement and shifted into the covers. Sasuke turned to put out the light on the nightstand, and lied on his side, facing the blond which distinctive features barely visible in the inky darkness.

"Thanks for coming out here, Dobe," Sasuke said, breaking the heavy silence between them.

Naruto snorted softly. "I know that means a lot to you, doesn't it Bastard?"

The smile on Sasuke's lips was lost in the blinding darkness as he turned his back to the blond, the smell of bleach from the cotton sheets filling his nose.

"Yeah…" Sasuke whispered his admittance almost reluctantly.

Naruto chuckled lightly. "Night, Bastard."

"Night, Dobe."

Sasuke only closed his eyes for a moment before a sudden thought came to his mind.

"hey, Dobe?"

"Yeah, Bastard?"

"How the hell did you get here so fast?"

There's a moment of silence before he spoke, "I was in the neighborhood."

Sasuke could literally hear the smirk in Naruto's voice, and he mentally rolled his eyes at his best friend's sarcasm, "Smart ass."
