How old are you?
Fortunately old. I don't say, and I'd never complain. I've learned the hard way that getting old is great fortune.
Tattoos?
Just one -- a fu dog (temple dog). I have Chow Chows and the fu dog reminds me of my protectors.
Ever hit a deer?
Yep. I was driving a big old 1974 Dodge Monaco on dark highway at about 60 mph. I just had time to see the silouhettes of deer pass in front of oncoming traffic, but no time to slow down. I remember seeing a doe flying away from my car before the hood flew up and radiator fluid exloded everywhere. I remember sitting there shaking with the smell of burned rubber in my nose from my new tires. Nothing like locking up the breaks on one of those big Detroit sedans. Totalled my car, but I didn't get hurt. I was fortunate. Three people were killed in deer collisions that year.
Ridden in an ambulance?
Yes, I felt kind of ridiculous. My doctor made me take an ambulance from his office to the ER because he thought I might be having heart trouble. I wasn't, but he was super cautious when I was undergoing cancer treatment.
Sang karaoke?
Once. Although I like to sing along to the radio, I didn't like karaoke because I couldn't hear the vocals well.
Ice skated?
I tried once when I was a teen, but the skates were too small and I had weak ankles.
Ridden a motorcycle?
I have ridden on motorcycles with someone else, but not alone.
Stayed in hospital?
Yes, but just overnight when I had a mastectomy.
Skipped school?
Yeah. I got bullied in middle school and tried to avoid going when I could. Looking back, it was pretty sad.
Last phone call?
That I made? Calling in a prescription, I think.
Last text from?
Vennstiel Watched someone die?
My dad
Pepsi or Coke?
Beer
Favourite pie?
Pie? Coconut cream, but I'd rather have blackberry cobbler
Favourite pizza?
There's a place in my hometown that makes a terrific crispy thin crust piled high with everything but anchovies, yep, my favorite
Favourite season?
I really miss the autumns for my early years -- sunny days and cool nights, fallen leaves and pumpkins and corn stalks, bonfires and hikes. We never seem to get those kind of autumns where I live now, so I'd have to say spring because the blooming trees and flowers here are glorius.
Broken bones?
I was run down by our German shepherd when I was six and broke a collar bone, and then I broke a bone in my foot a few years ago.
Received a ticket?
I've had one speeding ticket. I've been lucky that way.
Favorite color?
I love all shades of purple but especially aubergine of late.
Sunset or sunrise?
I find the chirping of birds in the morning really annoying, especially when they start before the sun even rises. Whereas, I find sunset very relaxing -- sort of an indicator to wind down the day. I used to love sitting by the lake with a glass of wine, watching the color spread across the horizon. The sun would be a deep fuschia orb sinking slowly out of sight. Great memories.
